Sample at the brewpub. This beer is a clear pale yellow color with a thin and creamy bone white head that recedes slowly. Thin sheet of lacing on the glass. Aroma of fresh chili peppers and a touch of malt. Medium body with a spicy chili pepper flavor along with some spice and malt in the background. The finish is spicy peppers with a hint of sweetness left over. Even trying to not think of Cave Creek while drinking this, it was still not very enjoyable.

Sample at the brewpub. Pours a clear yellow-gold color with rising bubbles and a medium thin white head that burns away steadily. Thin sheet of lace. The aroma is sweet honey and malt with a touch of wheat. Light body with flavors of toasted malt and honey, plus a touch of Lager-like hops. The finish is sweet honey with a wheaty aftertaste. Pretty run-of-the-mill overall.

Growler fill - Thanks Chad! Pours a dark brown, near black with a small tan head. Aroma is heavy roast with coffee and hints of chocolate. Flavor is like a mocha blended with coffee, roasty, and a little bit fruity. I like the sweet elements into the coffee and the creaminess of the palate quite well on this one.

Gowler transported from the brewpub by Harlequin. Sweet roasted aroma and roasted toootsie roll flavors. Not enough IBUs for an imperial but pretty tame in general. Flat fromt he 2 day old growler. Not bad though. Thabks Chad

Draft sampler, no slice, 4 Aug. 07. Light cloudy yellow, with a clingy ring of foam. Big banana hefe smell, backed by lemon. Taste has all that, plus low spiciness. Light wheat and asters, too. Not my very favorite style, but I can judge when it’s been done nicely.

Draft sampler, 4 Aug. 07. Ah, the end of a long day of sampling. Smell is sweetly malty, but also slightly sweaty. As the last of a six sampler tray, this one’s head is long gone now. Clear yellow color, paler than most American wheats. Honey sweetness, but not overly done. That distinct impression of honey can be quite enough. Goes down nicely to end the day.

Draft sampler, 4 Aug. 07. Coppery pale ale color. A light hop smell, but a very aggressive Pacific hop taste. Tries mighty hard to play big daddy to the brewer’s British IPA. Caramel malts a-plenty almost keep this bitter brew in check.
