Description

Bottle at Augustiner. Cloudy amber gold. Soft cloves and creamy banana. Taste is full, fluff, front heavy. Crunch. Spice, banana, cream. This is decent.

Clear golden. Aroma is noble hops lemon light yeast. Taste is sour malt light sweet wort. Rather thin but yeasty body. Not too shabby. Not so mossy either (like their normal Helles)

Crystal clear ruby beer, thin off-white head. Light malty aroma. Flavour is malty with some caramel, a dash of hop. But it's mostly malt and caramel, not loads of either which hurts it but y'know, it's a perfectly pleasant beer.

Tap. Red bronze with ruby, lush foam with lace. Aroma: expectedly sweet with total dominance of malt, a lot of caramel, malt jam, a little wine, bread, chocolate. Taste: sweet and completely caramel, dense, thick, a little chocolate and candied fruit and jam, wine and schnapps, slightly bitter finish.

330ml bottle from GBX. The foil stamp & the cheap price tag made it stand out in a sea of ugly can art. Didn't this use to stagnate in 500ml bottles? L298132218 Pint glass @home. A bit of a rise & dribble, not really a bottle bomb. Clear, dark amber, ample cookie dough head. The nose is Dr Pepper with extra caramel & an almost Worcestershire savoriness. Tastes of caramel candy & slightly charred raisin bread. Slight raisin associated sharpness, with a mild bittergreen bite through the tail. Frothy, low low volume, syrupy, warming without being boozy. Good if simple. As an ignorant American, Celebrator is way better than this. Notes from March 2011 3.4 300ml Bottle from Good Beer. Cozy new little beer store near Hop Devil Grill, & not too far of a walk to/from New Beer & Whole Foods Bowery. Bottle filled to about half an inch of the mouth. Carlsberg pils glass. Beautiful fucking color. Head is a consuming, rich sandy tan color I've never quite seen before exactly. Looks like there's some added beta carotene in this. :P Body is a clear, orange-amber color. Slight, stringy lace & immense, milkshake-like resistance on the head. Smell isn't intense & is difficult to pin down. Grainy breakfast cereal & caramel. Flour-like? It's too cold, gotcha. Gave it a five minute rest, & sharper sweetness emerges. Almost like slightly charred toast. Still not a whole lot. Taste is toasty grain & sharper instances of dark wheat macerated with that quoted 7.5% ABV. Some charred/tannic flavor. Some sneaky raisin-esque flavor that I'm not so sure of in here also. No bite aside from the slight char. Body has enough resistance to be considered chewy. Carbonation is almost enough. Alcohol is alright, but lands a solid hit to my temple. Solid beer, but makes me crave fresh Optimator. : -
