Description
Harvey's is the oldest independent Brewery in Sussex. Founded by John Harvey in 1790 it still remains a privately owned family business, with the eighth generation currently working there. We pride ourselves on the craft of our brewing, environmental credentials, local distribution, local charitable activities and loyal staff. Widely known for our Best Bitter, our beers and pubs can be found in and around the South East. As a Regional Brewer we tend not distribute further than 60 miles from the brewery premises, however our beers can be purchased via our online shop shop.harveys.org.uk and at our Brewery Shop in Lewes. Bottle at home while cooking dinner for the family. Good pour and quickly disappearing head. Zingy flavour of bitter hops and citrus fruit - really refreshing. Lots going on for 4.2 abv.

Bottle at home after a long day! Good pour, good head and I got a perfect temperature. Too sweet for me on the first mouthful so now having it with chilli heatwave doritos. They have done better.....

Cask handpull at Nelson Arms Tonbridge. Clear amber colour lasting white head. Odd flavour. A bit of saison mixed with a real ale bitter. Good condition. Not sure it entirely works. I like the base bitter not sure about the wild element to it. Interesting though Harvey's yeast aroma

Bottle at home. Light pour but still a good head. Bitter nose and a really complex and appealing flavour. Malt and hops, followed by the richness and tang of the oats. Perhaps a bit too rich for more than one????

Cask at The John Harvey Tavern, Lewes, East Sussex. A straw coloured pour with a decent white head on top. Fruity, floral, yeasty, tea taste and aroma. It's definitely a Harveys beer with a Belgian feel about it. A lovely collaborative brew. Would really like to have this again but it's probably a one off. Good stuff.

Bottle from the brewery, Lewes. This was well made and a classic English strong ale but it didn't tickle too strongly. Mahogany gold.

Bottle at home. After a 2 hour audit committee and a 3 hour board this was necessary. Good pour and looked great in the glass. Probably over chilled but it was necessary on a day like this. A traditional English IPA and nothing wrong with that. A great refreshing bitterness that just hit the spot. Solid.
