Description
Harvey's is the oldest independent Brewery in Sussex. Founded by John Harvey in 1790 it still remains a privately owned family business, with the eighth generation currently working there. We pride ourselves on the craft of our brewing, environmental credentials, local distribution, local charitable activities and loyal staff. Widely known for our Best Bitter, our beers and pubs can be found in and around the South East. As a Regional Brewer we tend not distribute further than 60 miles from the brewery premises, however our beers can be purchased via our online shop shop.harveys.org.uk and at our Brewery Shop in Lewes. Med Steven på The Roebuck Inn, etter Parsifal på Glyndebourne: klar rødlig kastanjefarge med fint skum som varer. En smaksrik maltdrevet bitter, jordaktige toner, skog og delikat krydder bitterhet. Close to the source, og naturligvis velpleiet fra cask.

Poured a medium viscous brown. Nuts? Fruits spices. Some yeasty syrupy gunk. Ok but a bit off.

Bottle from the brewery. A lovely fresh pale ale that is exactly what you want for the style- English homely bitterness and fruity, grassy hops, all while being very late and not too heavy tasting.

Cask at The Herne Tavern. Crystal clear amber with a half finger white head, holds with a nice layer of bubbles. Nose of light caramel, grassy hops. Flavour is medium malt sweetness, quite savoury, with very British hop profile. Smooth carbonation, light-medium body, dry woody hop finish. Decent cask pint.
