Description

330 ml bottle. Cloudy light gold color. Large frothy whitish head is disturbing! sweet candy corn malt aroma. Ascerbic, tart fruity malt flavor. Pickles are an alien lifeforme. Seriously, this is a yeasty, fruity, bready malt example of Begian pulchitrude. Sandy, crusty, grassy notes. A tragic classic!

I’ve tried this beer a lot of times, I’ve even been to the Achel abbey, and still -I hadn’t rated it yet! Let’s make this up right now. 33 cl bottle served in La Trappe chalice. Pours hazy orang-ish golden. Thick, foamy, nice lacing, off-white head. Aroma is average intense, neither high nor low: scents of sweet orange, white flowers, banana, clove, candied sugar. Mouthfeel is fizzy, slick, round. Crisp, quite bitter, just a hint of sugary sweetness at the end. Finish brings some spearmint and citrus aromas. Medium to long-lasting. Quite nice.
