Sweet floral and resiny hop flavor on a pale malt background. Medium body with moderate carbonation. 7/4/7/3/14 - 3.5 11/30/2005 - Amber color with a frothy ivory head that lingers. Lightly hoppy aroma. Roasted malt flavor with a light hoppy aftertaste. 6/3/6/3/12 - 3.0

Orange color with a thick rocky white head. Light malt and hop aroma. Moderate grainy taste, but not completely overbearing.

Slightly hazy brown coloured body with a nice tan head, completed by strong ruby highlights. Aroma of roasted malt, pit fruits, prunes and a light toffee scent. Medium to Full-bodied; Sweet nutty fruityness with a roasty malt flavour and a good balance between bitter and sweet. Aftertaste clean, but showing good qualities from the taste. Overall, a good beer - what the style should be, but missing some new complexities. Great to try though! I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Village Pump Liquors in College Park, Maryland on 01-April-2005 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia.

brown in color, no head at all. has a light hoppy aroma. Starts off decent, but over time the taste will start wearing on you.

Really need to rate this one, as I’ve now had it about six or seven times from the bottle. Wish you could give points based on the label, as this one has an outstanding Romantic depiction of a Ceres/Demeter-like figure. Very unique label. I’ll probably hold on to a couple bottles just for the label. Ok let’s see what else I can say that’s not about the beer itself. . .nope, that’s about it.
Batch 1 2005 bomber
Pours a copper-goldenrod, nice and dark, with only a chill haze. Little to no sediment on the bottom, though it is bottle conditioned. Head is very large, but recedes quickly to a cover, with light lacing left behind. Head is off-white colored. Aroma of sharp, dry wheat, lots of fruitiness (apples, pears, oranges, unripened peaches), with soft, sweaty, only lightly bitter hops. A touch of dry caramel and toasted grains lingers in the background, while you can definitely sense a bit of strong, perfumey alcohol esters. Flavor is very bold immediately, with a sharp, acidic wheat twang and alcohol heat. Moderately sweet caramel comes in to the mix, with ripe red berries and more drying yellow fruits on the end. Alcohol is definitely present, but not in an obnoxious way, just rather warming. Expansive mouthfeel with a lightly creamy texture at times. Wheat wines are just too acidic/sharp for my tastes. Wheat already adds enough dryness without having to then up the alcohol. I think that’s why I enjoyed triticus so much more, the dark malts really helped balance the wheat and alcohol. A well-made beer for what it’s trying to do, just not my cup of tea. Sticky caramel, lightly bitter, leafy hops and a bit of raisins and candied oranges linger on.

This starts out with a large creamy head and a clear brown body with nice red highlights. Caramel and apples in the aroma. The flavor is malty and sweet, but lacks any smoky, vanilla, or buttery tones that would improve it’s depth and complexity. Simple, straitforward Scotch Ale.

Enjoyed on a brewery tasting trip back in mid-June. On tap-pours a white head, and a nice orangy color. Nice taste. No bite indicating an ABV of 14%. *090329- on tap @Capones
