United States 🇺🇸
Associated Venue: Heretic Brewing Company
Established in 2011
We started by sharing a building with another brewery in 2011, but we always brewed our beer ourselves. Within the first six months we realized there wasn’t enough space for two breweries in one building, so we began the search for a new place. By 2013, we had built a new, modern brewery in the wonderful city of Fairfield, California and moved all our operations there, including our new distillery.

Orange peel and some pine. Plenty of malt. Just not a lot of flavour here. Bitter orangy end. Can.

Can. Opaque orange with a small white head. Aroma of oranges, onion chives, pineapple, grass. Sweet and juicy with lots of pineapple and very little of the threatened astringency. Low bitterness is almost enough. For old fashioned me who still thinks of 6.5% ABV as a strong beer, this comes across as a pleasant quaffer that doesn't justify its strength.

16oz can pours a nearly opaque black, brown edges, ring of off white head. Nose is solid, toasted grains, some rootbeer, molasses, brewers licorice, caramel. Flavor starts sweet with caramel and Charleston Chew, there is a roasty coffee note helping with a little rounding bitterness, burnt toast with nutella. Little bite from the roast and from the alcohol on the end.

330ml can at the Beer Bank, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a slightly hazy golden colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt and piney hops. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a malt, citrus fruit, light grassy, floral hop bitter palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not too shabby!

This brew is a cloudy yellow color with a medium frothy white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Partial rings of lace. Herbal hops, tropical fruit and biscuit malt in the nose. Medium body with flavors of citrusy hops, mango and bready malt. The finish is mildly bitter and creamy with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 09.11.20. Hazy orange. White head and lacing. Aroma and taste of sour malt, lactic acid and pilsner malt.
Zoet maar wel moutig zoet, hoppig, beetje ouderwetse hop smaken als hars en kerstboom. Het is niet dat je juichend op de bank staat te janken van geluk, maar het is wel in de richting van wat ik zoek. Fraai dus.
