On tap at Artistic Table. It pours a very dark brown color with a creamy light tan head. The aroma is fruity with some fig, raisin, plum and hints of cocoa and malt. The flavor is nice with more fig, some peppery yeast and light acidity, but not sour by any means. Full bodied mouthfeel. A little roast with hints of pepper in the finish. Overall, fruity and rich with subdued but noticeable spicy yeast character. I liked it.

Bottle - Soft boozy caramel notes. Cloudy gold with a small white head. Boozy and sweet raisin with nice barrel notes and a bit of heat in the finish. Nothing like a dubbel, but nice nonetheless.

Bottle shared during RBWG 2016. Pours hazy orange-gold with a flimsy white head. Novel aroma, some citrus notes, faint varnish, wood, honey. Medium sweet flavor with lots of bready malts, gummy candies, melon, orange, dough. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly warming, with notes of peach, melon, tangerine, alcohol, pale bread, light toasted coconut, caramel. Pretty tasty, if a little scattered.

This beer pours a dark reddish-brown color with a medium thin light beige head that diminishes steadily to a film. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oaky vanilla, fruit and yeast. Full-bodied with flavors of earthy yeast, whiskey, dark fruit and malt. The finish is oaky and mildly boozy with a fruit and yeast aftertaste. Good beer all around.

Hazy golden coloured body with an orange glow and no head at all - no carbonation when popping the champagne cork either. Aroma of alcohol, bourbon, grain, booze, lemons, oranges, hops, caster sugar and more oak. Full-bodied; Strong alcohol and booze at first with some oak and dry grass right afterwards - immediate burn from the alcohol afterwards with a little sweetness from caster sugar and light fruits. Aftertaste shows some complexity without any carbonation, with oak, light hops, toffee and pears coming through coupled with the bourbon and grain. Overall, an interesting beer, especially without the carbonation. Complex as expected, but fairly one-dimensional with a lot of the flavours geared toward the barrel aging and the dryness with a lot of depth from the pure alcohol. Neat to try, but not worth it, especially at this price point and even more-so when this was aged for a bit and still shows a big harsh alcohol bite. I sampled this 37,5 cL bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Bowery), New York on 17-July-2014 for US$13,99 sampled at home in Washington a day before leaving for Chicago (close to Ohio) on 12-November-2015.
