(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 1 March 2007) Dark golden colour with pale hints of amber, firm white head. Clear (I wouldn’t really guess that this was unfiltered). Malty nose with fruity hop aromas of orange and apricots. Malty, slightly fruity taste with caramel, orange, apricots and spicy hops in the finish. Nice, tasty lager with a fruity edge behind the malt.

Draught at Battersea BF 2007. Very drinkable pils. Very crisp and clean, very good subtle citrus flavours if a bit metallic. 3.4/5. Re-rate on tap at GBBF 2013. Most right thinking people’s beer of the festival. Such amazing hop that leapt out of the glass at you, so green, so verdant, so amazing, then the perfect colour and clarity and frothy white head, and the carbonation and the pale malt and then the bitter finish. Stunning. Simply a world class beer.

(Bottle 50 cl) Clear, pilsener golden with a white head. Incredibly lovely and fresh floral aroma. Medium-bodied, again with these typical clean Keesmann malty notes perfectly balanced by the fantastic aroma hops. Rather dry and less sweet than your typical Helles. But excellent indeed. 071106

(Bottle 50 cl) Cloudy amber golden with a dense, white head leaving laces. Distinct banana- and orange aromas. Medium body with sweet notes of fruit and some yeast. Soft and smooth - no bitterness. A very decent Hefe. 071106

(On tap) Clear, deep golden with a small, off-white head. Sweetish malt aroma. Fairly full-bodied with a rich sweetness from the plentiful malts without ever appearing sticky. Moderately hoppy finish. A decent pale Bock. 071106

(On tap) Beautiful, clear - much clearer than you’d ever expect from an unfiltered beer - amber golden with a nice, creamy, off-white head leaving laces. Completely clean, malty aroma with a whiff of caramel. Medium body again with these incredibly clean malt notes with a touch of burned caramel. A dry finish. 071106

Slim white head over very pale golden beer. Very neutral nose, some vanilla. I mean, really, is somebody home here??? In the background, after some serious warming up, I get a slightly salty, meaty aroma as from Gelderse rookworst . Very dry, grainy, even flour-dusty but with a fine finish hinting at excellent Bavarian hops. Well, I might have preferred "clear an’ present Bavarian hops", rather than "hint at". A fleeting impression of refined white candy sugar; it’s generally sweet and yet conveys a dry impression. So dry it suppresses the real MF. And yet it tastes sweet... Let’s play the cartest-journalist. + : It’s a marvel of balance. The German equivalent of Duvel: undercooled to the limit. - : It’s so subtle that it gets boring; the German Duvel...

Bottle: Hazy, pale golden, medium-sized fluffy head, slowly collapsing; wheaty-fruity (bananas, citrus-fruit) nose, mild sweetish-sourish flavour, light bodied; a light tartness in the citrus-fruity-wheaty finish. A refreshing Weizen..........
