Bottle. A deep dark brown, almost jet-black color with a light tan head. Aroma is fruity and spicy. Taste has a hint of sweetness with roasted grains, herbal and spicy hops, with a yeasty finish.

Bottle. Cloudy gold in color. Giant head with nice lace. Aroma is the pleasant floral-hoppy notes that I find really nice. The taste is also really nice, not the strip the skin off your tongue bitterness of some DIPAs. Citrus and floral favors. Like it!

Pretty much a no-brainer pick up at Mr. T's across town. Ommegang brewed besides being an amber ale that has been barrel aged, two big positives. I have the 12 oz bottle opened and I tilt it inside of a globe glass. The body is amber-brown in color and the initial head is an unusual mahogany tan foam that quickly settles to a bare skim. The scent is boozy along with fruit and syrup. And the drink is good, really good imo. Baked bread, whiskey, dried fruit, malt and dark cherries. Very much a Belgian influenced brew, something Ommegang knows how to make. Lots going on with this one.
