very interestng beer.
Aroma is funk hops. The bret is there, but subtle, and the hops are funked, with a touch of saison pepperiness.
Flavour is a tad sour, and has a nice hop crispness. The finish lingers a little sour, and slightly hopps with some notes of citrus hanging on. Very interesting. I like it alot!

rating #800!!! Bottle frm Daknole. thanks!
Pours a beautiful dark ruby color, with a luxurious huge beige head. Aroma is dark ripe fruit. Its loaded with plums, and figs, and raisins, even some apple, and a touch of smoke, and sweet malt. Flavour is sweet, with notes of raisins, cherries, soft chocolate, and even some vanilla. Leaves a nice sweet aftertatse with hints of cherry. Nice quad!

16 ounce can from Lower Merion Beverage. Bright yellow gold color is topped by a frothy white head. Fragrant tropical fruit aroma hints at mango and pineapple. First sip is big warming alcohol, followed by sweet citrus and mango. There is an underlying hop bitterness that lingers throughout. Estery notes on backend. Finishes dry with peppery notes.

Lemon, yeast, biscuit malt, and straw aroma. Hazy golden yellow with moderate white head. Moderately sweet lemon, orange, yeasty biscuit malt, and mildly bitter grass/fresh hay flavor. Good body.

Bottle from a Safeways in San Francisco. Aroma is dark malt, caramel, yeast, dark bread, raisins, dark dried fruits, notes of chocolate, with a slight hint of cherries that I probably wouldn’t have detected if I didn’t know they were there. Flavour is sugary sweet and light bitter. Body is medium to full. Good Quad, lots of bold flavours, cherry is too subdued for my taste. Very enjoyable.

Bottle from Bierkoning, Amsterdam. Aroma is peppery estery yeast, bready malt, notes of ripe fruits, touch of banana and orange. A hint of alcohol in the finish. Flavour is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is above medium. Some lovely yeast at work here, good balance and body, a very fine Belgian Strong Blonde.

Bottle from Craft Beer Cellar, New Orleans. Aroma is brown malts, lots of caramel, toffee, touch of fudge, dried fruits, raisins, brown sugar, nuts, hint of cocoa. Flavour is sweet with a mild bitterness. Body is medium to full. Good specimen of (English) Barley Wine, very rich malt profile with plenty of dried fruits. Dig the fudge and cocoa hints. Worthy of The Hand.

Bottle from Beer Republic. Aroma is malty with mildly tart and sweetish cherries, caramel, a touch of wood, bit bready. Flavour is disappointingly low on tart- and sourness with a little sweetness. Body is medium. Not bad exactly but way too mild.

Another pint can I got from Halftime. An extremely pleasant day for early February, I think I’ll sample this one out on the front porch. Globe glass ready, I make the pour. Gold with a bit of orange in color completed by a hefty head of sterling white foam, steadily rebuilt from below. The nose is peach, maybe some nectarine and cereal. The taste is not bad, actually better than that. Yellow fruit, citrus, hops, honeydew, cardboard and white bread. A minimal sweetness along with a pronounced bitterness. Good enough.
