Pours bright yellow into a tumbler. Head quickly recedes and holds steady on the surface. Banana, clove, and lemon notes. Upfront dry wheat with orange flavors. Abrupt, dry finish. Slightly watery, but refreshing.

Vintage 2005, corked bottle
Dark color; huge and compact head. Malt aroma, with light noble vanilla notes and very light spices. A light hop note. Subtle.
Round taste, correct soft malt, a lot of caramel (getting more bitter at the end), warming. At the end there is also a presence of roasted malt, roasted nuts and liquorice.
A very good example of Strong Belgian Ale, malty enough, with some interesting hints, and every element is well blended together.

Bottle Pours a very light straw colors pale yellow. A quickly diminishing pure white head. Spotty lacing. Aroma is very light belgian characteristincs but also somewhat pilsnerish and bananas and cloves. Flavor is mmild and of the german hef and belgian mustiness. Spices and cloves are here too. Extremely fizzy, Champagne effervessence is right. Rather thin feel and a quick dry palate. A fine example of a style that is not my fav.

750 ml bottle - Pours hazy amber with a big, billowy head that bubbles off after a few minutes with just a bit of lacing. The aroma is of citrus, yeast, and a touch of spice. The flavor is quite malty with some spice in there. It has lively carbonation and unfortunately the body is too thin and watery. The finish is very dry, much more so than I expected. It’s pretty good, but honestly after Ommegang’s Belgian strong ale and their Hennepin, I expected more intense flavors and especially more body.

Pour is a clear yellow with a fluffly white head. Aroma is a very nice combo of citrus and wheat. Flavor is not as good as the aroma but i get lots of lemon bitterness with a touch of vanilla. Not the best of the style but there are pleasing aspects to this brew.
