A rich tan head forms in the top of the glass while the bottom fills with a dark brown brew showing hints of deep garnet. The aroma is sweet caramel and chocolate. Rich chocolate flavor really backs up the nice aroma well. Smooth, just right. Not as intense as some Porters, but this one is still above average.

They label this one as a summer wheat beer but I really can not tell why. Taste wise this is just your typical heavily hopped and unbalanced IPA. A passable beer but nothing to write home about.+++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle the beer poured a golden-orange color with no head at all. The scent was strong, sharp and flowery with a strong hop presence. The texture and palate were light but sharp from the heavy hops. The flavor was pure grapefruit. The hops clung to the tongue. There was no wheat taste whatsoever. There was no balance at all. It also tasted a little flat. Dry and flowery on the aftertaste.

A large, creamy, white head formed over this deep yellow colored beer which gave off a rich, bready, hoppy aroma. The flavor was hoppy with a nice wheat bite in the background. Light bodied, creamy and refreshing. A mix between an American Style Wheat Beer and an IPA. A recommendation from the staff at Half Time Beverages in Poughkeepsie. Thanks!

Golden clear beer under a nice white head that diminshed somewhat. Clean hop aroma, and a nice bitterness that is supported by a smooth malt presence. Nice Pilsner.

Clear amber color with a large off white head. Nice, well balanced, malt/hop aroma. Well balanced and smooth with a nice bitter finish. Needs just a touch more body, but this is a well done IPA.

Golden and clear. Always a turn-off in a wheat beer. Abundant Centennial aroma, not much else. Very hoppy, slightly quenching wheat acidity, and a hint of bread. Moderate bitterness, though high for style. They call it American Wheat, but it’s more like and English Golden Ale/Bitter. If that’s the case, give it to me raw- unfiltered and on cask.

Almost black. Hugely roasty aroma, with a slight fruitiness. Intensely roasty palate. Very hoppy (some tropical fruit notes derive from this). Balanced, very intense. A little two-dimensional, for a style that exemplifies complexity, but I think they were going for a bigger version of the Storm King theme on this one. Like that beer, it’s nice, but not complex enough to be a show-stopper.

draught at brewtopia - quite a hoppy, pale ale-ish wheat beer, but quite enjoyable - wheat and hops combine in much more subtle and effective ways, and the hops don’t dominate the flavor like I experienced in the FFF Gumballhead sampled earlier in the fest - spicy and bread-like - a bit of citrus to finish it out - good summer ale.

draught at brewtopia - in order to sample this beer I had to - 1. wait for the seemingly ignored southern tier folks to get ice in their coolers - and - 2. tolertate the somewhat inhospitable southern tier reps - but it was so worth it - this is amazing stuff - one of the darkest tan heads I’ve ever seen, with an aroma of roasted nuts and coffee - hoppy for an IS? - sure, but so is Storm King, and that beer rules - besides, the hops really help to accent the roasty, woody, nutty characteristics of the beer - very full bodied - chocolate lingers in the finish forever - too bad this is a one-off.

On draught at Kaya in Pittsburgh. Pours a dark amber/orange color with a medium thin off-white head. Really nice lacing throughout the glass. Floral hops and citrus in the nose. Medium body with a nice bitter character. Flavors of hops, apricot, citrus and caramel abound. The finish is crisp with a nice hops bite. This is a nicely balanced IPA that doesn’t just dump a bunch of hops in and call it a day.
