Cheeky 330ml can on the train shared with haddock en route to our crawl through Birmingham's lesser known delights. It's a decent moderately sweet haze affair, good tropical sweet flavours for 4%.. seshy.. decent for style, strength and intention which is I imagine a 6-pack quaffing in the sun. A view of Albrighton and Codsall train stations will have to do for us.

25th January 2024, shared can with minutemat on the train to Birmingham for a pub crawl. Orange body, white crown. Oranges rule the nose and taste, I actually enjoyed this.

Can shared with minutemat on the train to Birmingham for a mystery tour, 25th January 2024. Light orange body, snow white crown. Citrussy lead, pleasant enough for a low cal 4% beer.

Optisch Kürbis, also tatsächlich orange. In der Nase auch deutlich wahrzunehmen, sehr würzig. Im Trunk ebenso, sehr herbstlich lecker, Kurbus stark im Vordergrund, dazu Zimt, passt.

Can (from Beer Republic). Orangeish golden colour with a small white head. Aroma is floral, fruity, some mild nectary and a bit alcohol sweetness to it. Flavour is fruity, floral, some nectary, mild herbal and zesty tones with mild oats and some herbs.

Bottle, 0.355l. Aroma of citrus, stone fruit, flowers and resin. Pours cloudy golden color with medium sized soapy off-white head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts with refreshing tangerine and resin, following is herbal and biscuity, mouthfeel is rather dry, while finish is heavy bitter. Medium body, slick texture and lively carbonation in palate. Hazy and tasty…

Dark blond colour with some haze and a thin head. Nice biscuity malty base with a little citrusy pithy bitterness.

Boozy and slightly warming, a bit piney, and a bit Belgian-yeasty. It’s fine but a little underwhelming.

Super deep and rich dark brown coloured body with a large, very dense rich brown head with a long-lasting lace on the sides. Aroma of rich coffee, roasted malts, vanilla, cream and a good hit of nuts, with only a tiny touch of sugars noticeable. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong rich nuts and earth shows through with coffee, grain, bitter, burnt chocolate and a touch of oatmeal and vanilla with a pungent, but relatively thin and fast-dying metallic and bitter finish. Aftertaste shows the grainy, malty, vanilla-y and coffee notes with more bitterness from burnt sugars and coffee than anything else and without much body or depth to be long-lasting - this is very transactional. Overall, a decent at best porter that has some light coffee notes, but i'll remember it for how thin it is and how simplistic it is, especially for the style. I sampled this twelve ounce can purchased from Giant Food in Alexandria (Potomac Yard), Virginia on 22-October-2020 for US$1,99 sampled at my house here in Washington on 14-December-2020. 

Deep, super rich brown coloured body with a thick, super dense and deep rich brown head that stays afloat for a long time and also has some oily notes on top as well. Aroma of very rich coffee, chocolate, vanilla, wheat, bitter funk, bread and a dash of yes, yeast-raised fried donuts. Light-bodied; Strong malty, caramely, earthy and especially nutty flavours dominate at the end with a good deal of vanilla and earthiness with an especially robust chocolare taste and custard-like lactose and vanilla pudding pungency at the end. Aftertaste shows a rich chocolate nutty and malty profile with some good sweetness from oats and especially cream/lactose with a bite from the bitterness at the end, but remains relativey easy-going. Overall, a nice and rellativey sweet and pungent beer that has a lot of flavours, yet remains a nice option for a lighter beer with a ton of flavours and especially complex sweetness and yeast and true-to-name donut bite.
