Bottled. Clear yellow, malty rice taste with hints of hops. Sweet rice and malt in taste, with a bit bitter aftertaste. I prefer this one with a slice of lime. 3 2 5 2 8

Bottled (to celebrate the 10th anniversary of 2Pac on RateBeer). Bottled. No lime slice, just the bombastic fluids in the bottle, from the bottle. Sweet rice and malts with some slight citrusy notes in the aroma. Flavour is rice, maize, mild malts and not that much more. Thin palate. Rather empty in flavour. Merv likes this stuff. 3 2 2 1 4.

2004 bottle. I actually bought this only half-jokingly. I was planning Mexican for dinner, and am sick/tired so didnt want a big, alcoholic beer. Just wanted something refreshing. Granted there are much better choices out there that fit that bill, but nonetheless, I still wanted to try this one, being not altogether disenfranchised from Grupo Modelo’s Modelo line. Ok, now that I’ve, perhaps, justified drinking a pale lager, here are my thoughts. Better than average color to the pour, most likely from the corn. Maize-golden and clear with a white head. Little aroma to speak of, though what is there, is not offensive or skunky. Light grains, touch of honey and perhaps a hint of bitterness. Flavor could be this beer’s strong point, with an even honey grain taste, and yes, hops. Light and very faint, but they do add a touch of bitterness and they are unmistakeably there. Finish has a bit of lager yeast flavor and a strong note of corn, which I actually found pleasant. Corn’s not all that bad. It didnt taste like corn syrup, but like actual corn. Texture is fizzy and overcarbonated, but the light lager crispness seems to help mitigate that. Light body. Would definitely drink/buy this again if I was in the mood.

Very pale gold; white fluffy head, dwindling. Chalky, grainy nose - and a bit lemony already? And, I think, lightstruck. FAWGH! Medicinal taste and "skunked" as you say. Absolutely horrible, ruined grain. Falling flat after 1’ of opening time. Medicinal salve flavour getting worse all the time. Flat, dull sweet, no body. It beggars belief that this concoction is so loved around the globe. It’s good advertisement for limes, however. Covers up anything. (I drank this without, of course.

Drank this 14 kilometers from the Belizean border in the Southern Yucatan. Basically a light pale clear lager that is clean and refreshing, but more thirst quenching than satisfying. Better than a Corona, but there are better beers in the area than this one.

Bottle No aroma. Pale golden, foamy head. Straw flavors, then nothing. Almost, but not quite, entirerely unlike beer.

Clear amber color beer which supports a nice white head. Sweet malt aroma with little bitterness as it should. Acceptable Vienna, but nothing great. Not a bad choice for a Mexican beer, but there are some that surpass this old standby.

Can’t believe I haven’t rated this macro nasty. Biting body with hints of hops and a tangy malt backbone. Actually the hops aren’t so indetectable. Please don’t drop a lime into the bottle and smile. Please?

Bottle: Poured what must be the lightest yellow corn lager in the world without any head and a strong skunky aroma. Wow, truly one of the worst beer I had the misfortune of drinking. No much more that I can say about this…

Pale lager with little head, fairly malty aroma and dryish flavour but generally sweet. Overall better than I was expecting from a Mexican beer.

This was foul, not in an extremely bad taste way, but in an almost-no-taste-but-the-taste-that-exists-is-bad way. Even the colour is offputting. And it’s quite expensive here, I think around 2 euros. Good thing I got the bottle I drank (well, drank half, and poured the rest in the sink), for free (a cousin bought 4, drank one, got disgusted with it, and gave me one to try).
