Description
Une Anneé, an Independent Craft Brewery, was born, in 2013, on the near west side of Chicago, with the quest of making fine Belgian inspired ales for all beer lovers. Founded by architect and Chicago native, Jerry Nelson, Une Anneé, has expanded it’s offerings over the years with an emphasis on fruited and unfruited American Wile Ales and Barrel Aged Stouts. In 2017, the brewery moved to neighboring Chicago suburb, Niles, IL and expanded to include a taproom. The working brewery in the background lends a hand to creating a laid back atmosphere where you can sit back and enjoy some of your favorite craft beers on tap.

Aromas are tart cherries, malt with a little yeast and spice. Flavors are similar to nose with a barest hint of sweet in back. Okay body and carbonation. Very short lived fizzy head on a dark amber liquid with a tiny bit of pink.

Aromas are dark malt with a little roast and candy sugar. Flavors are similar to nose, pretty bland and the barest suggestion of Belgian yeast. Definitely not double fermented. One and done.

Aromas are malt, toast and oddly, floral. Flavors are similar to nose, on the sweet side with soft mouth. Not bad, not great.

Can shared at the October 2023 PS tasting, 10/14/23. Hazy pink, thin off-white head, average retention. Taste is tart jammy cherries, pie filling, lemon. Aroma of sweet cherries, pale malt. Mild funk. Bright. Thin. Nice. Winner of the tasting.

On tap at Centennial Crafted, pours a clear dark amber mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma brings out Belgian yeast, toasted caramel and bready malt. Flavour is malty and yeasty, with Belgian yeast, toasted caramel and a touch of dark fruits. Light-bodied but pleasant and not too estery.

Tap at Peders. Murky amber, no head. Tart, to sour hayish, passion fruit, some salt. Medium light dry body, light sticky hay on the palate, singed straw retronasal. A bit too one-dimensional sour. Could be be a bit better balanced.
