bottle - Pours clear, piss yellow with a thin head. It smells like sugar and rice. It’s sweet, watery, highly carbonated, and tastes rather like a weak apple cider. In short, it sucks. I never thought I’d say this, but Anheuser Busch does it better (sorghum beer, that is).

bottle - Pours copper with a one finger head. It has a light hop aroma, then a caramel malt flavor with mild hops. This brew is a little too thin bodied and finishes mildly bitter. Not bad.

Bottle dated Nov. 06. With this kind of alcohol, I’d hope it can stand being tasted at 6 months old. Nice deep coppery red that doesn’t want to admit much light, Smell does show a little honey and wassail spice. Taste is richly sweet. Honey is there, as is a bit of orange and more spices. Strong warming alcohol, some cinnamon, nutmeg, maybe some ginger, but not as strong as would be in a pumpklin pie beer, thanks. Also has hints of Vernor’s soda, or the spicy 7-up Gold of 20 years ago. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.A good nightcap to a long day. Being a Lakefront beer I didn’t want to let it sit too long as my previous samples showed their age quickly, but this one may indeed cellar well.

Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is caramel and fruity with a little spice thrown in. Flavor is some raison and a small touch of dark chocolate. Finish is sweet but enjoyable. Pretty tasty for a bock and better the Shiner by a longshot.

Soy sauce aroma. Pours black with a very thin brown head. Tastes of dark roasted malts and fairly well balanced hops. Faint light roasted coffee finish.

Deep brown body with reddish highlights, thin dissipating buff head. Milk chocolate aroma with soy and coffee, sweet-smelling. Strangely sweet to tart body, almost lactic, with Hershey’s syrup, coffee beans, and light buttery notes. The astringency of the coffee is negated by the dominant syrupy tartness. A mess of a stout.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is very roasty with notes of peat and coffee. Smells like roasting peat over an open fire. Flavor is roasty with a bit of dark chocolate. Finish is a bit weak but so are most dry stouts. The aroma is what puts this one over the top.

Pour is a amber with a fluffy white head. Aroma is a pretty decent amount of sweet and toasted malts. Flavor is caramel with a fresh hop backbone. A decent example of the style and a pretty good beer, especially for this brewer.

Pour is a orange out of the tiny bottle. TONS of floaties. The bottom of my glass if full of stuff. Aroma is caramel malts with a huge dose of alcohol. Flavor is not as much in your face as the aroma. Dark fruit is the main thing that stands out then a super sweet candi sugar hits you. Still average at best as no hops make an appearence.
