Description
Blue Moon is known for its Belgian-Style Wheat Ale which was created in 1995 by Keith Villa, a brewer at the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field, Denver. It was originally brewed in the Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado. In the summer of 2016 a new state-of-the-art brewery was opened in Denver’s RiNo District. Since then we have been brewing fan favorites (old and new), and experimenting with new and unique ingredients on our pilot brewing system.

Bottle on 12/20/2008 from Food Lion in Varina, VA. Very clear dark copper body with a large frothy off-white head. Sweet sugar and corn aroma with some caramel malts. Sweet caramel and light molassas flavor, a bit sugary with some slight roasted malt hints. Medium body with moderately high carbonation.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear golden amber color with a medium head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma is strong musty wheat with lime notes and grain. Taste is toasted malts with big acrid citrus notes and some corn. Medium bodied.

Pours pale amber into a shaker. White micro head subsides to skim the surface leaving no lacing. Caramel and mild lime aromas. Crisp with very muted wheat and limes from front to back. Somehow tastes macro and style-bending at the same time...

Bottle from a party last night. Beautiful copper color with a foamy off-white head. Nice aromas of citrus and other fruit. Medium body minus with some sprightly carbonation. A little light in the flavor department. Touch of citrus zest, and some rough light roast caramel. A bit gummy in the finish. Good enough to drink. Pretty weak for a Belgian.

On tap at The Rake, Borough Market. Cloudy orange gold with thin white head. In a Belgian wit style. A little soapy, but good orange fruit flaours. Its pretty good. Fullish fruit flavour. OK carbonation decent beer to start the day with. Some crystallised tangerine fruit too.

Nice hazy golden yellow ... spicy bubblegum... way tooo fizzy destroys any flavour in its fizz ... defizzing you get a slightly medicinal yeasty bubble gum ... drinkable even plesent but not really me.
keg at British Oak ...April 2025... hazy amber ...spft fruit nose ...thin white lacing ...soft spicy orange ...juicy fruit ..Light woody bitter

Bottle that I found in Sainsburys, Kidlington, Oxon recently, consumed Dec 08. Pours hazy golden moving to light amber with a large white fluffy head. Nice wheaty nose with some spices and yeastiness in there. This is far better than expected and actually quite decent and refreshing. If I was being critical I suppose the spices and citrusiness which are very much in evidence are not quite subtle enough and its a little sweet but I really didnt mind it at all despite these faults. Seems to be a mild APA. Has some bitter hop attributes. Finish has some personality sneaking in there.

12 ounce bottle. Coors attempts a dubbell. Hmm. Pours a reddish brown color with a medium head. Poor head retention and lacing. Aroma is sweet and earthy malts. Sweet caramel malts in the taste, with not much else. Thin bodied.
