Description
Blue Moon is known for its Belgian-Style Wheat Ale which was created in 1995 by Keith Villa, a brewer at the Sandlot Brewery at Coors Field, Denver. It was originally brewed in the Coors brewery in Golden, Colorado. In the summer of 2016 a new state-of-the-art brewery was opened in Denver’s RiNo District. Since then we have been brewing fan favorites (old and new), and experimenting with new and unique ingredients on our pilot brewing system.

No aroma. Cloudy amber, medium head. Bread crust, cardboard. Medium body, moderate carbonation. Not a whole lot going on here, even for a macro.

12 oz. bottle. Appearance is an orange cloudy color, fast dying head. Aroma is artificial apricot, straw and malted wheat.

Mouthfeel is light without any sugar but... The fruit definitely has a slightly fake taste to it. Wheat backbone / straw is thin as is the texture. No need to say any more here.

Bottle. A- Apricot jam, gummy, slightly fake, sweet. A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, white head. T- Apricot jam, gummies, fake, sweet. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, cloying finish. O- Apricot naturally has a slightly plastic fake taste I think so when this was apricot overload it came across as a cloying sweet artificial bomb. Still, not terrible but the apricot was not handled appropriately to make this a well balanced brew. Then again, it's Blue Moon, so this will probably please the fruit fan masses.

Crisp, slightly hazy golden and copper coloured body with a bit of a peach glow and a thinnish, two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of bright peaches, some light citrus, a touch of wheat, a little yeast and some subdued bready qualities with a little sweetness noticeable. Light to Medium-bodied; Large yeastie flavour at first with some apricots, a lot of wheat, a touch of sugar and some bigger bready and biscuity flavours near the end. Aftertaste shows some peaches and apricots with a touch of the sweetness, but this is all about the yeast, the biscuits and the breadiness, and not really in a good way. Overall, a decent, light beer with some light sweet notes but a lot of apricot and peaches, but the strongest is the breads and wheat that show a large yeastie quality near the end. Decent, but not good and perhaps not really worth drinking, even in the heat of summer when far better options exist. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Giant Food in Arlington (Columbia Pike), Virginia on 22-November-2017 for US$1,99 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore of Virginia on 26-January-2018 in Pungoteague, Virginia.

12 oz twist off bottle that was part of the World Market 9 pack Beers of Winter gift from my Mother in Law. APR1618 printed on bottle neck. The pour is a slight haze orange golden with a minimal off white head. The aroma is peach skin, artificial peach sweetness and wheat grain. The taste is the fruit peach soft artificial chemical sweet, followed close behind with somewhat dirty wheat, grain and earth and yeast to the finish. The palate is medium bodied, soft carbonation, unfiltered mouth feel and the lingering dirt wheat flavor. This one didn’t work for me.

Bottle: Hazy, dark yellow with a thin, off-white head. Scent is heavy apricot. Taste is apricot/ peach fuzz....not much wheat here..... Kind of an odd, fruit-pit bittering. Not good.

Cloudy apple juice color pour with a small off-white head and fair retention. No lacing. Strong apricot & peach nose. Taste follows the nose. Clean and smooth wheat base. Simple and refreshing.
