Description
Great beer, great service, great space. Boiler Brewing Company and tap room is located in downtown Lincoln in the historic Grand Manse building. The stately stature of the Grand Manse is accurately reflected in the bold beers that brewmaster Tim Thomssen prefers to make. Aside from the ever rotating list of beers, mead and cider, food is also available. A unique experience in every glass.

Canned 4/28/26, drunk 7/18/26.
Rich, not too sweet chocolate with peanut butter in the background. Great acidity with light cherry and plum-like fruitiness. Roasted, but not too much. Earthy on the end. Can't be Brett, but I kinda smell Brett.
Kind of tastes like Brett up front...but that could be the earthiness from the chocolate? Gun to my head, I'm saying it is a Brett infection. But it's kind of delicious. Rubber band/band aid phenols up front should NOT work whatsoever here and yet...Some Brett acidity lingering (more band aid). I mean, I wouldn't expect a Peanut Butter Chocolate Band Aid Porter to work, but this is nice. Dry and with a great acidity. I guess it helps that this is my favorite expression of Brett. And if it's not Brett (would have to be a really, really complex, wacky, interesting chocolate), that's fine too.

Can from Tavour: pours ruby brown with a beige head. Aroma is woody and loads of caramel. No boozy notes. Still is warming. Fairly sweetish. Some dry roast and hints of bitterness. Medium to heavy body. Light carbonatoon.

Can from Tavour. Pours clear brown with a slight tan head. Aroma is toffee/bready/fruity. Med body. Malty but not very sweet. About enough bitterness for balance. Flavor is darkish toffee, somewhat bready. Bits of various greenish hops. No grass or spice. Just a nice drink.

Can labeled as Amber 3x poured into a tall glass. Aroma is caramel and roasted malt. Just solid across the board. Nothing stands out but nothing is offensive. Caramel sweetness but balanced with a little roast.

Tavour: pours gold with white head. Aroma is some grass, pale malts, almost honey. Taste is a bit too sweet at first. Bitterness appears at the end more. Not that great.
