Bottled. Hazy yellow colour, big fluffy/bubbly white head. Aroma is wheat, malts, citrus with some notes of paperyness and mild rubber. Flavour is wheat, sweet caramel and some paperyness and rubberyness.

Appearance: Hazy yellow. Lots and lots of white head. Longlived. Aroma: Initially vile, then minestrone soup! And some lemon. Taste: Sweet, some fruit. Little wheat. Watery and boring, but no bad. Info: 500ml bottle, 10/1-2008

500 ml bottle purchased at Lukas, KCMO. Pour is hazy straw yellow - golden with a big, fluffy snow white head. Aroma is really soft and full - wheat and yeast are primary, with the yeastiness offering up a nice earthy fullness as well as the spicy clove. Some ripe fruitiness is present as well, not quite the typical banana, more of an apple pear. Engaging nose. Taste fall a bit short of the nose, though has the same apple - pear fruitiness, the wheat and the spicy earthy yeastiness. The fruitiness in the taste also has some banana and pineapple. There is also an acidity to the taste which does not entirely meld with the other tastes. The acidity is not quite tart or sour, more of a metallic sour. Palate is full without being heavy, and it is refreshing. Overall, this is a good enough Hefe, though the flavor left me a bit wanting after the nose.

i50cl bottle from Sainsburys./i Cloudy chocolate brown with a thick tan head fruity roasted malt aroma similar flavour dry finish with a touch of banana. Not a familiar style to me, OK - but not something I’d go hunting for.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts very washy, becomes then a bit yeasty, the finish is floury and dry. Not so good!

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Not much foam, but okay for a weizenbock. The aroma is very, very sweet. Tastes strong and malty, finish is malty and dry. Very drinkable for its strength. Good beer!

Bottle. Thanks to JensenTaster. Pours pale & hay yellow with a lasting creamy foam. Aroma is very weak & watery - some wheat , corn, citrus & vegetables.

Pours with a small, off-white head that goes quick. Hazy brown body. Aroma of bananas, clove, toffee, raisins, and sweet malts. Taste is sweet with bananas, vanilla, and a touch of soy sauce.

Dark ruby beer that fails to kick up much of a head, despite my vigorous pour - kind of bock-ish aroma, with strong caramel, chocolate, and raisin - very faint wheat in the background - soft, yet full in the mouth - light wheat tartness up front is squashed quickly by sweet caramel, fig, and chocolate that last through the middle - dries out a little late, and the wheat character becomes apparent again, adding just a tiny bit of tartness - a little metallic on the back end - more like a weizenbock than a dunkelweizen - not quite what I was in the mood for, but pretty tasty.

[16/5/2008 - on tap at Copa of Reading] Superb tall sinuous branded glass had all my friends wanting this beer too! Beer itself is a rather disturbing clouded brownish-yellow. Taste initially surprisingly malty and hoppy for a wheat beer; the classic lemon and grass flavours only really come through in the aftertaste. Not a particularly memorable example of the genre. [re-rate 3/4/2010 - 500ml bottle, gift from Jim - cheers!] Yellowy-amber, less cloudy than your usual hefe. Huge fluffy white head. Citrus and wheat aroma. On drinking the flavours are weak and watery - a hint of lemon, a touch of spice, some malt and a slight sourness in the finish. Pickly carbonation at first mellows into quite a creamy mouthfeel. Overall tastes like a macro-brewer’s low-cost imitation of a wheat beer. Pretty poor.
