This is another one of my old reviews that RB has somehow lost. I'm estimating they're losing about 5% of old reviews. This beer is not as good as what I remember. Lots of solvent qualities in there. Update: much better this time around but really nothing spectacular. Fairly bland ale and that's it. Not bad body, bittersweet.

Bottle from Asda. Deep amber in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. A malty beer, with some caramel, leafy hops, and a pleasantly bitter finish. Fine.

Tasted from tap in De Beiaard in Amsterdam. The head is too thick for a British beer. Just a faint hoparoma with caramel. You could say: the taste is almost neutral. There is some late hopbitterness and a very faint sourness. Still this beer is a decent thirst-quencher.

Caramel and mango aroma. Full bodied. Sweet, somewhat buttery. The alcohol is all around. Fruity flavor (mango and peach) and a hint of cherry. Nice barley wine, fairly well balanced.

Can, drunk in the train from The Hague to Hengelo. Bought in Wijn en Bierboetiek, The Hague. Metallic and grainy. Thin. Hints of orange. There is some distant bitterness, probably not really from Pride of Ringwood hops, but a more nasty bitterness not taken from hops. Nutty. Cardboard. Not good.

Off white head left a spotty cover on tea coloured still body. Tea & spices aroma. Medium to thin bodied, tingly on the palate with a sharp back. Caramel, spices, bitter & herbal tastes.

500ml bottle kindly shared by Richard. Clear warm golden body, filmy layer, spotty lacing. Restrained aromas of dusty hops. Blended taste profile of grass, and mid-sweet malts with a caramel touch. Moderate bitterness to the ending. Average, more or less. (Worcester 27.06.2019).

Can from Aldi. Amber with a fat coat of white head Pretty watery with a touch of cardboard as well as honey and a little stone fruit. But oddly the lack of body (combined with rather tentative nitro) brings the modest bitter finish into greater prominence - which for me makes it beat the Pub Ale. You could drink buckets of this but you wouldn't enjoy it much - if that isn't authenticity, I don't know what is.

330ml can from Sainsburys, Darlington. Orangey gold colour, white foam head leaving lacing and aroma of fruity, malt, orangey. Taste is sweet, malty, barley, dried fruits, toffee, mellow, citrus, spicy, boozy, earthy. Syrupy mouthfeel, medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi-dry warm boozy finish. OK.
