On keg at the Stockbridge Tap. Appearance - golden and clear. Decent head. Nose - orange and grain. Taste - grain and lemon or orange. Palate - light to medium bodied with a creamy texture. A but astringent on the finish. Overall - ok.

Bottle from Waitrose, Cheltenham, consumed at Scott and Mandy’s, Dumbleton, Saturday 26th August 2017 Pours jet black with a beige head. Aroma is suggesting that this will be a little sweet but perhaps with a hint of a tart fruity edge and I guess that I am picking up chocolate, malts, red wine, molasses. In the mouth I could easily repeat all the above as they are all present. Add to those flavours some liquorice, oak and even the hops tying to get in on the act and you have a great beer. Basically what you’d expect. Golden, grassy, grapefruit, hop, a touch of sweetness. I love citra beers though, so yeah.

Cask at the Southern. Pours clear golden with a thin white head. Aromas of tropical fruit, cut grass. Taste is light bitter, mandarin orange and more cut grass. Clean finish.

Gravity cask from Broood, Leicester. Golden, clear. A fine film of white head. Aroma is low, with light honey, tropical fruit and biscuit notes. Tastes so much better. Bittersweet and sharp with a helluva citrus kick in the finish. Pink grapefruit in the aftertaste. Very tasty.

Cask at GBBF �17, day one, 08/08/17. Clear golden copper with a well appointed off white cap. Nose is melon, citric peel, toasted grains, grass. Taste comprises orange squash, straw, soft bread, apricot quiver, lemon rind, melon. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Ok hoppy session gear.

GBBF Day 1. Cask. Bright clear gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is light and semi dry and has reasonable fine carbonation. Good Citra hops here - bright orange and orange peel. Touches of lemon and bitterish pith. Light finish. Mild bitter linger. Good stuff, why can’t more cask brewers use hops like this?
