Description
Four lifelong Oregonians got together on February 13, 2009 and decided that their knowledge of locale and understanding of craft beer could be an excellent starting point for a business. Later that year Hop Valley Brewing had its debut in Springfield, Oregon, but grew too large for its 15-barrel capacity and opened a new 60-barrel brewhouse and taproom in Eugene in 2013. In July 2016 MillerCoors acquired a majority stake of Hop Valley through its Tenth and Blake craft beer and import division. Hop Valley Brewing Company will operate as a separate business unit of Tenth and Blake.

12 oz. can. Pours a cloudy, light, orange color, with a big, frothy, white head. The aroma is grapefruit peel, dry grass, biscuit dough, and cardamom. Fairly dry, with a light, sticky bitterness. Light to medium body, with a crisp, clean mouthfeel. This is a refreshing and tasty, citrusy IPA.

Can shared at CBC Clerkenwell - London. Cheers to Cloin. Pours clear yellow with a creamy, white head. The nose holds lemon, doughy pale malts and ginger. Medium sweet flavour with nips of dry straw, lemon, dough, white bread. Light bodied with average, creamy carbonation. Sweet finish with notes of lemon meringue, lightly bitter citrus peel. Decent sessioner.

12 oz can from a six pack, rated on paper up the river earlier today. Aroma is grapefruit peel, cantaloupe, maltiness. Slightly hazy golden pour with an off-white one finger head collapsing quickly into a ring. Taste is light to moderately bitter with citrus peel hoppiness, moderate malt. Tastes pretty old school to me, although there is less bitterness than is typical of those among the old guard. Edit: the rest of the six pack seemed a hell of a lot better than my first impressions. I drank the rest of the six pack straight from the can, and it seemed like a crisp and refreshing citrusy brew. Upping my overall from a 13 to 15 and taste from a 6 to a 7.
