Can from Speciaalbierpakket. Aroma is resinous hops, caramel malt, pine resin, sweetish tropical fruits with notes of citrus and grapefruit. Flavour is above moderate sweet with a bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nicely bitter with a smooth joining of caramel malt and resinous fruity hops, good!

330ml can. Black with tanned creamy head, some retention. Aroma of malts, light-roasted, coffee, lactose. Quite sweet in flavour with a touch of caramel and lactose but more prominent is the coffee-dry-roastiness. Finish has a moderate bitterness with malt, nuts and salt. Moderate body and carbonation which is more wet than smooth on the palate although maybe a little chewy as part of the finish. Its a good beer, a little understated for a pastry stout, but that's better than it being overly rich in flavour.

440ml can. Hazy straw-gold colour, moderate sized white head, good retention; looks the part. Aroma is very fruity with mango, passionfruit, apricot, creamy sweet pale malts; looking forward to this. Taste is a veritable fruit salad, with apricot, citrus, passionfruit notes and a peppery spice. Smooth malt feel with a soft carbonation. Only thing it lacks is more of a bitter bite in the finish to round it off. Nonetheless this is an excellent pale ale.
