Church End Brewery
Microbrewery
in Nuneaton,
Warwickshire,
England 🏴
Associated with 2 Venues
Established in 1994
M-Reg was the first brew on August 1st 1994.We now have a range of over forty distinct products including Fruit Beers made with real fruit, Herb beers made with fresh Herbs, Wheat beers made with a high proportion of malted wheat, black beers with chocolate malt , Honey beers made with real Honey... etc. etc. .
The plant was constructed from mainly second hand stainless steel equipment, with an output capacity of four brewer's barrels per brew (36 gallons is a brewer's barrel). At that time an average of five brews a week were made.
Today, Church End Brewery is housed in a refurbished social club.
During 2008 we upgraded our brewing plant to 20 Barrels per brew. Most of the brewing kit was sourced in the U.K. - Doncaster no less. During the installation new greener refrigeration and gas burners were installed, and this has already led to a 25% reduction in the consumption of both.

[Cask at GBBF] Pale golden. Fruity apple aroma with an unfortunate note of garbage. Sweet and sugary with medium body and salty bitter finish.

[Cask at GBBF 2005] A yellow beer with thin head. Both the aroma contains mainly notes of citrus and hops, while the only thing I really pick up in the flavor is citrus. The body is watery. I rather like the aroma, but the flavor is boring and the thin body is a drawback too.

Cask gravity at Notts BF 05. Hazy gold, no head. Some very faint grapefruit aroma. Fine in mouth. Some citric finish. Not the world’s best and a bit acidic

Cask at the Ipswich Beer Festival 2004, gravity dispense. IBF list says "straw coloured, bitter flavour and soft malt finish". That pretty much sums it up. Nice hops, good bitterness, refreshing - should be served cooler than it was at the IBF.

Aroma of fruit, oranges, and prunes. The color is nutbrown and it has next to no head. The flavor fruity with strong notes of prunes - it ends on a rather bitter note. Not a beer for me - too much prunes.

[Bottle conditioned] The aroma is lovely, malty and fruity with notes of oranges. The color is orange but it has no head. The flavor is very fruity and malty with a lot of hops in the flavor. In the end it turns slightly bitter. A really lovely ale flavor.

Extremely dark brown; toffeeish, slight coffee note; fully malty finish. Now that's a serious mild!

Softly malty, a little too subtle probably. Little bit of chewyness and nuttiness. Like Per said, a pleasant enough English ale, but certainly not an attention grabber.

Dark amber. Malty, fruity and somewhat sweetish with rather bitter finish. Good, but doesn't stand out.
