6/6/2026. Can at the June ITFC beer share. Bought at 3at3, Ely. Courtesy of Jordan, cheers. Good pour. Nice aroma. Nutty, chocolate, marshmallow, berry aroma. Taste is raspberry marshmallow and lots of berry sour. Surprisingly sour. Not what was expected (or intended?) and a disappointing end to my Phantom beer experience with an aptly named beer.

440 ml can, as Phantom M Is For Mosaic DIPA, from Left Field Beer, England. ABV is 8%. Opaque yellow colour, moderate white head. Aroma and flavour of Mosaic hops - yellow stonefruits, tropical fruits, some citrus. Also substantial malts, fairly rich mouthfeel. Some "hop burn", which I like.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 17/05/2026.
Could be my last Phantom rate? 199 and out, 1 short of the 'Daddy' century.
Black with a good sized khaki head.
Nose is coco pops, mellow roast, toasted brown sugars.
Taste comprises cheap chocolate, light tangy dark fruit rinds, toasted brown sugars, lactic nip.
Full bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Okay pastry if a little overly sweet and adjuncty ... shame to dip out on one of my lower scoring Phantom rates ... let's hop for one more.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 10/05/2026.
Bubblegum pink topped with a faint crimson cap that thins to a swirl.
Nose is raspberry yoghurt, hay bale, damp straw, lemon drizzle.
Taste comprises tangy pink berries, hedgerow, herb, lemon rind, acidic ripple.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a balanced puckering edge.
Really good punchy low ABV sour with a good puckering rasp about it ... not had too many sours from Phantom ... what a shame they have gone. Fingers crossed the main brewers will pick up elsewhere.

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 21/04/2026.
Hazed orange to golden topped with a lasting just off white head.
Nose is orange pith, grass, pine needle, mixed tropicana.
Taste comprises orange zest, grass, mandarin, papaya, melon.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close spliced with juicy come lightly grassy hop bitterness.
Tidy pale ... can't be many Phantom left out there for me to rate now!

Can. Just a light haze on this yellowish gold beer, something of a gusher, throws a very big pale cream colour head. Airy palate, pretty light, decent fine carbonation. Fluffy pale malts, a light creamy sweetness. Hops bring light cooling pine and very light but reasonably bright citrus. Not getting any real Strata or Nelson. Airy finish. Sigh. This is very likely my final brew from this very good brewery and, they normally smash this style. This particular beer is fine but not up to normal Phantom standards. So my last beer is a bit of a let down but, Phantom were a class act. I hope their brewing skills do not disappear from the industry..

Can. Just a light haze on this slightly yellowish gold beer, small bubbly pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light bodied pale malts, a thin but adequate creamy sweetness. Hops bring good cooling pine and a trace of skunk. Light but bright citrus, orange and touches of tangerine and mandarin. Motueka lime brightens the back end, adds variety and brings a mild tang. Light finish leaves a very mild hop spice linger. Bright and crushable. RIP Phantom. Sniff!
