Bottle. Cherry/apple and wheat malt aroma. Hazy amber with small head. Sweet light fruity wheat malt and lightly bitter herbal flavor. Nice beer - loses a point for being in honor of the bastard who killed many of my family members.

Bottle. Milky/grassy barley malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Mildly sweet barley malt and lightly bitter herbal flavor. Nice, authentic dampfbier.

Bottle thanks to Kyle! Pours a near clear amber with a tan head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma is full of booze and bourbon with caramel, sweet grains and cookies underlying. Flavor has a good amount of caramel and a growing note of bread and grains with a hint of warming bourbon underlying.

Argonaut Liquors, Denver 50cl: Pours amber with a whitish head. Aroma is candy, bread, pale malts, and nuts. Taste is similar. It is less sweet than other maibocks and also has less alcohol burn. Light fruitiness manifests itself in the taste. Easy to drink, but forgettable.

Draft at GBD in Washington DC. Poured a dark brown color with a tan head. Aroma was cold, sligtly burnt coffee. Flavor had notes of chocolate, light coffee grounds. Bitter, earthy notes.

Bottle from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark orange amber with a creamy/bubbly beige head. Aroma seems more chocolate than coffee. Med body or so. Flavor is malty/toffee. Coffee and oak are slow to surface. And there’s something about this that suggests bitter chocolate - maybe the way the bitterness comes out. This is rather subtle stuff. No mouth smashing flavors. It just keeps on building wood and smooth coffee, while letting the toffee come along. Not all that dry and bitter, but I think that’s how it is. It’s hard not to use "refined".

10oz pour at Scion, pours a hazy red with some filmy white head. Nose is gristy, bread crust, lemon, orange, dried grass. Flavor is malty, sweet, mild pine, orange, metallic, cracker, biscuit. Malty, lightly citrus finish. Decent.

Amber/copper color, steady off-white head, nice lacing. Some wood and cocoa in the nose. Medium-bodied. Soft palate. Sweetish maltyness, coffee/cocoa flavor is dominating with touch of vanilla. A bit rough in the edges but same time somewhat enjoyable. Quite unique flavor.
