12 oz. bottle, pours a hazy golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of resinous hops, medium pine, light herbal quality, and bready caramel malt. Flavour is really wonderfully balanced, with loads of resinous hops, light pine, and bready caramel malt. Doesn't strike me as a "session" [double] IPA in any way, which is a plus for me. Excellent stuff.

The sampler, brooklyn tap: pours brown with a beige head. Aroma is vanilla and bourbon and malt. Taste is rather sweet with no real boozy notes in it. Boozy and whiskey aftertaste. Maybe too sweeet.

12 ounce bottle into lager glass, bottled on 4/24/2015. Pours slightly hazy bright golden yellow color with a 1 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, wheat, cracker, rye bread, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Very nice aromas with good balance and complexity of bright citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon zest, orange peel, light pine, wheat, cracker, rye bread, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/herbal/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange peel, light pine, wheat, cracker, rye bread, light pepper, and herbal/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors with zero yeast ester notes present. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice hoppy pale lager style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Somewhere between a 2 and 4oz bottle pour at SAVOR 2015’s Saturday night session. Poured a cloudy brown-black color with a small brown head. Aroma was notes of light funky cherries, vanilla, light berry, lots of funky notes. Flavor is cherries, dark fruits, dusty, light herbal notes. Tart finish. Okay.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark color, with small brown head, pouring thick. It has sweet caramel and malt aroma with some Bourbon. The sweetness helps to balance the alcohol; the flavor is malty and rich, with dark fruits, dates, raisins; correctly bitter without overpowering hops; in the final there is some Bourbon and a warm feeling. American barley Wine, but not an extremely hoppy one.
Excellent sipper. For sweet Barley Wine lovers.

22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 6/12/15, Batch #2, Bottled 2/18/13
Press a dark brown color with a slight orange hue and a small head. The aroma is sweet, dark malts, some bozzy notes, chocolate, and funk. Tastes rather funky and a little sweet. Medium-full body, average carbonation. Decent, but maybe a bit too much going on.

Bomber from Whole Foods in Napa, CA. Pours dark ruddy copper with a slight beige head that left quickly. Aroma of oak and bourbon. Full bodied; moderate carbonation. Flavor is roasty malt, oak and bourbon. The flavors blend wonderfully. It isn’t dry, but the heat is barely detectable, and the finish is very tasty. Great stuff. This from a former lager deprecator.

Bottle - Toffee, molasses and some booze. Deep dark brown with a light brown head. Sweet, cocoa and molasses with a long malty finish. You can feel the heat, but still ok.

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown / black with a small tan head. Aroma is very roasted, pretty harsh, with dark fruits, roasted malt, and harsh spicy notes -- weird stuff. Flavour is jumbled, with dark dried fruits, toffee and spicy alcoholic notes. Somehow, this is held together pretty well, but it's also pretty harsh. Not the most complex beer, but it's got enough interesting notes to be pleasant to drink. Not bad.
