Bottle thanks to Marcelo. Pours a reddish brown color with a medium white head. A big funky malty sour fruit nose. The base sweetness is there, but this is a solid Flemish brown, fruity, very vinous. Awesome. Drinkable.

Neutral aroma from a vintage estate 2$ bottle, reminds me of apa in many respects. Medium bitter hops with a somewhat lager ale combo. Yes, I can taste some Vienna in thar.

Bomber bought at Liquid Planet in Missoula, rated on paper last night up at the river. Bottled a few months ago. Aroma is strong in bourbon, wood; also, lemon rind, raisins, caramel. Pours hazy amber with a medium beige head with good retention. Taste is tart--odd, like sour ale tart (some hidden bugs in the aging barrel?), vanilla, wood, bourbon; faint grassy hoppy bitterness in the finish. Really unique and tasty.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/15/2015. Pours fairly crystal clear deep ruby red/copper color with a 1-2 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toast, brown bread, raisin, plum, fig, apple, light nuttiness, bourbon, oak, vanilla, light herbal, and oak/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of dark/bready malt, dark fruit, and bourbon barrel notes; with good strength. Taste of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toast, brown bread, raisin, plum, fig, apple, light nuttiness, bourbon, oak, vanilla, light herbal, and oak/toasted earthiness. Fair amount of bourbon/oak spiciness and light herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of caramel, brown sugar, toffee, toast, brown bread, dark fruit, bourbon, oak, vanilla, and oak/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, dark fruit, and bourbon barrel flavors; with a great malt/bourbon/oak spiciness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Very clean on lager flavors for the gravity with minimal estery yeast notes present. Light carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and lightly creamy/slick/bready mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is fairly well hidden with a light-moderate warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice barrel aged doppelbock style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/bready malt, dark fruit, and bourbon barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.
