Poured up on tap at Angel’s Trumpet where it exhibits a clear copper body that supports a thin light tan head. The aroma offers up inviting molasses, brown sugar, caramel malts and then sweet dark fruity esters like prunes and figs. Nice. The taste delivers an initial soft palate before some booze and brighter raisin and plum notes hit and head toward midway. It picks a dash of hotness into the finish as the raisins esters and booze again brighten up the experience. Overall I am enjoying this as it has an English barleywine like aroma to it as well as a smooth sipping profile. Cool brew.

Sampled at Tap NY 2015, 4/25/15
One of my favorites of Tap this year. Really nice, hop forward aroma. Citrus/pine. Nice flavor as well. Orange in color. I'm a fan of the Session DIPA joke as well. This is quite nice. I'd buy this is I spotted it in stores.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 4/19/2015. Pours crystal clear golden orange color with a 2 finger dense off white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, pear, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light homey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great complexity of citrus/tropical hops and moderate pale malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, pear, lemon zest, orange peel, pine, light honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Large amount of pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, lemon/orange peel, pine, light honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and light-moderate pale malt sweetness; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, resinous/sticky, and slightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice DIPA style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/piney hops and light-moderate pale malt sweetness; and very smooth to drink for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle from a mix-pack from Total Wine in Sacramento, CA. Pours brassy gold with a slight off-white head that was transient. Aroma is near dank, and then there’s a lot of mixed fruit. Inhale this and pass out. Hop wise. Arguably full bodied. Hop burn on the tongue. Flavor is fruit, citrus, mild caramel, and lots and lots of hop. Lots and lots of hop. Maybe this could be used as a food preservative. Finish is very light malt and a whole bunch of, it makes no sense, sweet hops. Meanwhile the bitter hop burn rolls on. Damn, but this is a revelation!

Sample at the "Ten Beers You Haven’t Had" Beer Tasting & Movie at Studio 35 during CCBW on 05/03/2015. The beer pours a slightly hazy amber color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Short strings of lace. Fruit, hops and malt in the nose. Full-bodied with flavors of tropical fruit, earthy hops and grainy malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Decent overall.
