On tap at Hay merchant. Pours a clear amber with a medium frothy whote head leaving sticky lacing. The aroma is floral hops and pine. Medium mouthfeel with a light bitter hop and caramel malt. Easy to drink hiding alcohol very well. A very impressive IIPA from HeBrew.

22 Oz. bottle shared / thx to sebletitje – very, very dark brown, very slight bordeaux hue, quickly disappearing mocha head, smell is very sweet caramel, peer syrup, malt goo, brown sugar concoction, bordeaux, very sweet taste, caramel, syrup, malt, lots & ltos of pear syrup, dark fruits, brown sugar, brown sugar, sticky, low carb. slightly bitter finish, warming, sweetness hits the booze pretty well, obviously zero trace of the 15 hops, might have been a touch more complex but this is quite nice

On tap at Rustico. Poured a relatively dark brown color with a tiny off-white/light-tan head. Aroma was dried fruits (plum mostly) with a slightly tart funk and a touch of rye grain. Flavor was a touch sour, with notes of port wine and sweet malts.

Pours deep mahogany into a snifter. Mocha head with good retention recedes to mottle surface. Sour chocolate and pit fruit aromas. Thick with sweet dark caramel, sour pit fruit, toffee, and mild metal before the lasting iron and oak finish. Complex.

Location: 22 oz bottle from WF-Columbus Circle, 4/12/12
Aroma: The nose of this one has a lot going, there are some dark fruits (raisins, dates), brown sugar, caramel, toffee, some licorice, pepper/spice, vanilla notes, some chocolate, molasses, and a little bit of booze
Appearance: It pours a cola-brown color with a thick, crackly, fizzy light brown head and almost no lace
Flavor: Tastes rather sweet, with the complex mix of flavor that the nose lead me to believe I'd be getting
Palate: This one is fairly full, with some stickiness from sweet malts, and a somewhat syrupy feel to the finish
Overall Impression: This is an interesting beer for sure, but ultimately it was a little to sweet for me. As I was drinking it, it became so sticky/syrupy sweet that it became sort of hard to drink. It is still a good beer with a lot going on, but it may be that there is so much going on it gets a bit muddled. Interesting stuff. I'm certainly happy to have tried this one, but it isn't something I'd want to drink on a regular basis.
