Draft at Local Beer in Omaha, courtesy of jbuskirk and HuskerTan, thanks! Pale clear pink color, white edge head. Subtle floral aroma. Taste has light herbs and fruit. Subtle, plain. But I like that it has a reasonable abv.

12 oz bottle purchased at HyVee in West Des Moines, Iowa as a single. The pour is a black brown, almost opaque, with a ½ inch khaki head. The aroma is soft char roast, faint vanilla sweet, and some nutty caramel malt. The taste is the sweet caramel nut malt, followed by char roast and cereal grain flavor of oatmeal. The palate is medium bodied with active carbonation and a char mineral finish. Easy drinking, solid Porter.

Draft. Cloudy golden body with a frothy white head. Aroma of clove, toasted grain, lemon peel. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes lightly to moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Light raw grain aftertaste. A weak stepsister of Hoegaarden.

Bottle. A- Cocoa, chocolate, roasty. A- Black color, black liquid, tan fizzy head. T- Roasty, cocoa, malty. P- Medium body, thin texture, medium carbonation, roasty finish. O- In a glass this beer is so fizzy that you wouldn’t be able to tell it apart from a Coke. Not really the best of starts but okay. As the name implies it’s a Double Stout, not a Double Chocolate Stout, so don’t expect this to taste like Sam Smith’s Chocolate Stout. There is certainly a decent amount of chocolate on the nose and a little bit on the palate, but overall there isn’t much else. Some roastiness but not much complexity.

Bottle thanks to TheHoff43. Pours clear copper, medium tan head, dissipates fairly quickly leaving nice residual and decent lacing. Aroma is nutty, bready, bocky. Flavor is light sweet, light bitter, some grassy notes, toasted caramel, dark breads and nuttiness, a bit of acidity, faintest notes of smoke. Medium body, medium carbonation. Interesting.
