Sampled on draft at Tapped this beer poured a hazy pale yellow color with a large creamy white head that left exceptional lacing. The aroma was citric hops and was a bit dry. The flavor was dryish with citrus, cracker and a bit of yeast. Long citric finish. Light to medium body. Meh.

reddish orange color. small head. The smell is bitter oranges, pine cone and dank resin. well, I think it’s pretty old. very bread-like, nutty with graham and saltine and very old bitter oranges.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Fresh Market, Bedford. Appearance is hazy yellow-orange with nice sparkle, finger-width fizzy white head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is apricot, candied sugar, mild wheat. Taste is sweet apricot with mild citrus and wheat. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with soft-to-average carbonation and sweet finish. Overall, it reminds me a lot of Magic Hat #9. Not much to it outside of the apricot.

Bottle pour into shaker pint glass from Fresh Market, Bedford. Appearance is hazy yellow-orange with fine, dark particulates, thin white creamy head with poor retention and trace lacing. Aroma is citrus, fruit, resin. Taste is as aroma over malt bill. Palate is medium bodied with thick, creamy texture, soft carbonation and citrusy sweet over bitter finish. Overall, not as flavorful or aromatic as I would have expected--perhaps a tad old?

750 ml bottle from Wegmans, Ithaca. Pours a mostly clear lighter golden-orange color with a fairly fizzy white head and some sticky lace. Aroma is musky and a little funky, some grass, wheat, oak, and earth. Flavor leans toward the biter and funky. Drinks with entirely too much carbonation and a fairly dry, tingly close. The two things that stand out are the funk and the super high carbonation. I like the funk.

Sampled on draft at Piper’s this beer poured a murky dark orange color with a small foamy orange-white head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweet orange and lemon. The flavor was tangy and sweet with orange, lemon, a touch of graininess and pepper. long finish. Medium body. Pleasant.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a murky golden peach color with a huge foamy yellow-white head that lingered forever and left good lacing. The aroma was tart, dryish, perfumey and bretty. The flavor was tart, musty, bretty and had notes of perfume and chalk. Long brett and perfume finish. Medium body. Decent.

Bottle pour into nonic pint glass from Greg & Jane’s Beer and Wine. Appearance is opaque black with reddish-brown at bottom edge of glass, finger-width brown foamy head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malts, bordering on burnt, coffee. Taste is as aroma but coffee is fairly restrained. Palate is medium-to-full bodied with thick texture, soft carbonation and mix of sweet and bitter finish. Overall, oftentimes a brewer goes to heavy with an adjunct but this might be just the opposite. Kudos for not overwhelming the beer with the coffee but a little stronger contribution from the coffee would be welcome.
