Bottle, undated, from Box O Hops 12 pack, drunk 11/18/16.
Fiery orange-golden body does show haze and a moderate-sized, off-white head.
Various citrus, vanilla and honey, with raw pine and alcohol coming quickly on the finish. Dough, nuttiness and light caramel malts with a strong bready character. Could not tell there were Nelson hops in here, even despite the obvious allusions in the commercial description. Mostly malt.
In the flavor it’s tired, bland, moderately bitter and resinous with alcohol on the finish and a fizzy, hard carbonation and dry, scratchy, grainy texture. If this truly is unfiltered, I really couldn’t tell.

Bottle, undated, from the Box O’ Hops 12 pack that was apparently released early October, drunk 11/18/16.
Hazy, moderately so, though it looks like it’s more due to protein and what not and not intentional as if it were a NE IPA. Tangerine-melon colored body topped by a thin, off-white head with moderate to low retention.
If this is just over a month old, and taken from the cooler, it certainly doesn’t show it. Caramel-like oxidation, bland paper, nutty protein, grassy, old, stewed hops and only a hint of vibrant orange and nectarine giving vague impressions of mosaic hops. It seems well-attenuated, at least, and there is no flaw. Maybe a touch of booze or strong ester, however, with some light resin.
In the mouth, it’s soft, dry with a wheat-like texture and caramel malts that are very out-of-place, taking much of the focus off the already heavily faded hops. Vanilla, caramel, bread, paper all suggest incredibly advanced oxidation which is just bizarre. But the beer seems very filtered and force carbed, so it makes sense. Not much mosaic, just some tangerine and light nectarine, with pine and light resin.

Got the bottle in a trade. Thanks Adam!

Looks like it was bottled September 21st.

The pour reveals a hazy orange liquid with plenty of foam.

Big mix of caramel malt and very dank hoppy goodness. Tropical. .pineapple and mango with, thankfully, only a slight hint of onions that plagues some of the Mosaic IPAs out there. Both in the smell and taste.

This is darned good.

Pours gold into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes to hug rim. Sour biscuit aromas. Dry with sweet caramel and hay upfront turning to mild bitter earth in the medium length finish.

Draught @ Stag’s Head. Cloudy rich golden with small off-white foamy head, very faint citrus peel aroma, medium carbonation, bitter happy taste, thin body, long hoppy finish. A classic IPA.

Poured into a tulip, the appearance was a hazy burnt yellow to almost orange color with a sly transparency running about it. Carbonation could be seen rising at a decent pace. A finger’s worth of head graces the top nicely and dissipates at a nice even pace. Sticky messy lace clings adequately.
The aroma starts off with a crisp sweet citrus rind and balances exceptionally well with some danky sweet onion and then sly sweet and bitter pine.
The flavor copies the aroma very nicely in pulling together the bitter and the sweet and runs into a semi-sweet citrusy aftertaste with a sticky finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low to medium carbonation leads a refined juicy bitter semi-soft feel rolling over my tongue.
Overall, a very nicely done DIPA by Ithaca and in fact, probably my favorite one to date by this brewery. Of course, I would have this again.

Poured into a mug, the appearance was a rugged burnt dark amber close to brown color. Sly little white head. Messy lace.
The aroma takes on nutty to light chocolate maltiness. Big caramel / toffee tones and a clean earthy to grassy quality.
The flavor leans nutty sweet with the chocolate, caramel and toffee notes combining sweetly. Sly crisp earthy, and malty aftertaste slyly moving into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Low carbonation feels good.
Overall, nice English styled brown ale that I would have again.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a ruddy burnt orange color with a thin layer of white foamy head. Stringy lace.
The aroma starts off with sweet pumpkin flesh rolling into some light allspice, ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Subtle vanilla with a light pie crust hits appropriately.
The flavor brings all of those previously mentioned aromas together sweetly and with a nice subtle spice to balance. Combined sweet to spice aftertaste with a crisp finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Nicely carbonated, this one allows the spice to balance decently.
Overall, nice pumpkin ale that seems to be a nice go-to for the season. I would have again.

This was poured into a becher pint glass.
The appearance was a murky burnt orange color with a sly finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated immediately. Messy clingy lace.
The aroma had some sweet to bitter grassy hops flowing over orange juice like sweet pulpiness. Nice level of crisp juicy toffee malts play with the balance of it all.
The flavor leans sweet initially through the blend of the malts with the hops but develops some edgy bitterness as it warms. Semi-malty smooth sweet to light bitter hops lead in the aftertaste with a quick sweet finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a nice sessionability about it. Low carbonation hits appropriately. Bitterness seems to hit appropriately in the harshness level in this beer.
Overall, nicely done AIPA by Ithaca, definitely worthy of having again.
