Sampled on draft at Gateway Grill this beer poured a murky yellow-gold color with a medium sized creamy white head that left great lacing. The aroma was tart, citric and perfumey. The flavor was tart and bitter with notes of perfume and cactus. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied. Solid.

When I saw the name, I thought impy stout but its really just sweet coffee stout. Bot. Smells like coffee with a little dark chocolate in the background. Taste is milk stout like with some coffee and a dull dark chocolate backbone, taste is same as the nose. Think rich cold black coffee flavors. The coffee is so strong, it covers the alky rather well. Somebody may drink this thinking is simple chilled black coffee. Even without the taste of alky, that coffee is so dark and so bitter black, whew. It takes a little away from the enjoy-ability factor. Interesting at first but gets a little difficult in the end.

A reddish copper ale with a thick creamy mocha head. In aroma, caramel malt with herbaceous hops, grass, light honey notes, nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity caramel malt with light grassy hops, light mineral notes, light honey notes, OK. Bottle at the Big Deck tasting 2016.

On tap @ City Swiggers. This is a clouded looking orange colored one. A small lacing just off-white head on the top. Smells quite buttery and almost roasted bitter at first. There's traces of needles, green coffee beans, hey wait a minute, this is a coffee IPA! It all makes sense now. Lots of the near roasted green coffee beans. The thing I thought was diacetyl did drag the total score a bit down at a moment, but I kinda like the aroma more and more. Tastes really really good. The coffee is perfectly balanced between the grassy hops. Nice and oily in the mouth and it's about average, perhaps a tad below on the bubbles. Loaded with lovely green coffee on the taste. Hints of licorice also, and it's loaded with fresh grassy hops. Really tasty this one. Really. 18.06.2015

New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle: pours golden with small white head. Aroma is light fruitiness, sort of a Euro macro smell, bread. Taste is kind of lie a Euro macro... does this make it more truly adherent to the style. Kind of grainy bitterness. Bready. Not bad. Easy to drink, but not crazy about this.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a murky brown color with faint amber highlights and an enormous foamy beige head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was malty and toasty with faint golden fruit and tobacco. The flavor was toasty and malty with strong golden fruit, pear, honey and faint notes of caramel and tobacco. Medium length finish with a bit of alcohol coming through. Moderately full bodied. Well done.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy bright peach color with a large foamy orange-white head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was sweet with pine, grapefruit and a bit of spicy hops. The flavor was bitter and tangy with pine, lemon and grapefruit notes. long finish. Medium body. Ok.

Bottle from Whole Foods Union Square. Hazy orange with floating sediment (?), large foamy whitish head, flowery aroma, medium carbonation, slighty sweet very flavorful orange taste, thin body, medium long finish with flowery aftertaste. Smooth and flavorful, but it was probably beyond the expiry date, ergo the sediments.
