Tap at Cherry Cricket - cloudy body, as it should be - fizzy, short-lived head- fairly dry and lacking a certain complexity I want in my hefes - nicely dry, though - a bit spicy - mild phenols, mostly in the form of banana, but some plastic manifests late - dusty headhunter throughout - a bit of lemon tartness - kind of bland, but not terrible.

Tap at the brewpub - they just added too much crap to this beer, especially the beet sugar - the aging in oak was also totally unnecessary - the result is a strong brown ale that brings an overwhelming sweetness and for too much vanilla and toasted coconut from the oak - there is a creamy body and a fair amount of nuttiness, but a lot of potential complexities are swallowed up by the sweetness and oak - not bad, they just tried too hard.

Snifter and the brewpub - dark ruby - hazy - inviting nose of treacle, prune, fig, black cherry, toffee, light oxidation and oak - moderate carbo - served a bit cold, so the alcohol was way too evident at first, but as it warmed, this smoothed out a bit - kind of an americo-british barleywine in flavor - a lot of dark fruit sweetness and some toffee-ish notes - a surprising amount of oaky character through the middle and finish that paves the way for a more dry, hop bitterness through the finish - fairly balanced, but could use some age on it to smooth out the alcohol.

Thank god I had this beer on cask, because I do not think I could palate it otherwise - fuck this beer - tastes astringent, with bile-like acidity - rotten apple and bready malt - bitter grapefruit pith - bleck!

Can - hazy copper beer - a lot of grapefruit and peppery/herbal spice in the nose, some minty character - medium bodied and moderately yeasty - quite a bit of toasted grain and bready malt - peppery hop bitterness through the middle - mild acidity - lingering toasted grain character - spicy/peppery quality lingers in the finish - only a very slight bit of diacetyl detectable in mine, thankfully (no more than you find in a lot of british imports) - not bad.

Tap at Freshcraft - hazy dark copper beer - fairly clean and refreshing for a pumpkin ale - moderate malt profile with a wee bit of tanginess - strong spice profile, but nothing overpowering or overdone - quite a bit of nutmeg and cinnamon spiciness - the pumpkin itself comes through a bit in the finish - understated, which is nice in this style.

Pour is a dirty looking yellow with a fizzy white head. Aroma is your decent hop with a decent maltyness. Flavor is all about the hops. An almost over the top citrus hop with a bitterness toward the end. Another solid canned beer.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy dark amber. Pie spice aroma. Medium body. Seems to have actual pumpkin flavor - mild on spice. So a bit bland, but a refreshing pumpkin version.
