Tap at the brewpub. Pours clear gold. Mild hoppy aroma. Tastes of light bread and noble hop. Nice.

Tap at the brewpub. Pours llight amber. Aroma is mildly malty, mildly hoppy. Tastes like that - it’s a light ale. Sessionable.

Tap at Wynkoop - quite a surprise here - reminds me a bit of DFH Midas Touch, only with a reasonable abv, drier and mostly more balanced - a bit of honey character - surprisingly subdued spice profile, with grains and paradise being the most prominent, but the tamarind is there are well - a light bit of hefe yeast phenols - a tiny bit of white wine-like quality - quite tasty, really.

Snifter at Wynkoop - not really a sour ale - more like a mildly bretty belgian ale - a bit of crackery maltiness, mild banana and pineapple - fairly dry, but it lacks the crispness that would make it great, instead offering a slightly watery texture - very mild funkiness and moderate acidity on the tail end - lingering phenols and mild spice - decent, really.

Tap at Freshcraft - more of a hoppy belgian than an IPA - the belgian yeast profile is pretty high on this one, especially in the phenol department - a bit of plastic, banana, a touch of clove - sweet at first, with a bit of apricot and orange - gets dry and biscuity through the middle as the hop bitterness arrives - dry, crackery, bitter finish - I enjoyed it.

Before GABF i decided I needed some food so i wondered into cool looking place with tapas and beer pairing menu called City O City. I got a portobella BBQ slider and the B3K. Pours a dark brown, and tastes of burnt coffee, a little soy sauce, with slight sweetness and nuttiness. its pretty carbonated and paired great with sandwich.

Tap at Cherry Cricket, which is apparently owned by Wynkoop - a bit chewier and less easy drinking than a schwarz should be, but there are decent things going on - fairly sweet, with a decent dose of chocolate character, a light bit of roast, very faint smokiness - moderate bitterness, but sweetness is the prominent characteristic - lightly bitter finish - decent.

8th October 2008. On draught at the Wynkoop brewpub. Hazy amber beer. Unusual IPA. Very dry with bitter grapefruit but also a sweet banana tone!

Cask - a fairly sweet scotch ale, with a bit of plumy character, some earthy/dms/boiled vegetable character (which is covered by the sweetness fairly well), and a peaty finish, followed by some alcohol warmth - a bit of vanilla, some toasted malt - sweetness washes out a lot of the other characteristics - okay.

Cask at the brewpub - fairly sweet IPA, with a lot of grapefruit-ish hop character that starts to get a little soapy the more you drink it - some diacetyl is covered up by the fairly strong hop profile - some toasted grain and even a touch of vanilla - meh.
