Description
The process of brewing beer hasn’t changed much since we started back in 1777. And neither has our unique approach to crafting characterful beer. But our equipment most certainly has.

Our state-of-the-art, independent, family-owned brewery now stands proudly alongside our old brewery on the banks of the River Stour in Blandford, Dorset. Using the finest ingredients and over 240 years of expertise, our brewers create beer that brims with flavour.

poured a clear amber/golden with a large offwhite head, that went away after a minute or so. freshly poured it looked great. bitter hoppy aroma, some sunburned beer too, faint ripe oranges. flavor is hoppy, sawdust, faint honey, a little citrus, some bitterness, drinkable but a bit dull too. gets better as it warms up , sunburned beer flavor also in there, but faint. bottle was totally clear, so i guess few months on a supermarket shelf could kill it.

From cask at Food of the Walk. Pours clear and golden deep orange with a small and dense creamy white head. Mild roasted malty aroma with a light bitterness showing through. Light spiced finish. Smooth and dry. Easy brew.

Bottle. Pale amber with next to no head. Aroma of caramel and a touch of grassy hops. Sweet flavour with some marmalade and an abrupt finish. Forgettable.

Bottle. Golden with a slight white head. This was very sweet, with a perfumed sherbet like aroma. The flavour was syrupy with some floral hopping and a short dry finish. Not for me.

Amber color. FCW (F***ing Close to Water): light paper aroma, light caramel flavor, ordinary bitterness, above-ordinary boredomness.
