Description
Dan and Chris had spent 4 months prior to our launch at Craft Beer Rising looking for a site in almost every corner of London but it became quite obvious, quite quickly, that with the money that we had we weren’t going to be able to do things the traditional way. We couldn’t set up with the right size kit and the right size facility. So with no brewer, no permanent facility and a launch at craft beer rising 2014 around the corner, whilst not initially the plan, we hung our hat on being ‘Hobo’ brewers. Some people call it cuckoo brewing, some people call it gypsy brewing, some people call it contract brewing, some people call it nomad brewing. We prefer the term hobo brewers but whatever you want to call it… its what we do.

Tap@URBREW, Bermondsey.
Clear golden color, small steady white head. Crisp, sweet mash aroma. Light-bodied. Quite sweet pils, lots of apple in the flavor. Interesting, clean pils, although a bit too sweet.

Keg tap at Brewhouse & Kitchen Bedford. Golden with a little bit of head and a lot of lacing. Light buttery aroma and slightly skunky. Bittersweet taste, full and drinkable with a suggestion of hops that doesn’t really live up to expectations. Short finish. Good but fairly anonymous. More personality please!!

330ml bottle. Clear, orangey golden colour with average, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Cautious, piney and slightly citrusy, hoppy aroma, pale malty background with a touch of peanut, hints of orange zest, mandarine. Taste is slightly citrusy hoppy, minimally strawy, hints of lemon, a touch of peppercress.

Can at Ravensgate Arms Ramsgate. Hazy gold colour lasting white head. Some sherbet hop aroma. I rather like it quite light. A little wheat presence. Mostly a wheaty hoppy sherbet feel. Ok. Light grapefruit and lemon.

Third, keg at Six Degrees North. Fawn-coloured head to an amber-reddish body. Good lacework on the glass. Malt-fruity nose of bread and citrus. Mixed taste of grapefruit and brown bread, some kind of spices to it as well. Bitter citrus shells to the finish. Pleasing (Aberdeen 19.04.2016).
