Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a deep copper/amber color with a fairly thick off white foamy head that left some light stringy lace.
The aroma had some roasted nuts, light toffee, subtle caramel and then some floral hops.
The flavor was basically the same with a fairly creamy sort of malty aftertaste running into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to almost medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, pretty good brown worthy of having again.

The appearance was a slight copper to semi-dark orange color with a finger’s worth of semi-white sort of almost off-white sort of color. Light little lace running off of the faded head.
The aroma had a decent blend between the grassy/earthy hops to hit upon some nice biscuit/bready type of malts, somewhat dry.
The flavor leaned towards this side of what I said in the aroma. Slight biscuity smooth aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation and a nice ABV.
Overall, worthy ESB of having again.

Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a milky brown color with a thin cap of a little white frothy head that fell off at a decent pace. Lace was slightly there, but messy.
The aroma had some chocolate, light coffee, some peach-like/apricot sweetness and then light nuts.
The flavor definitely leaned towards the sweet side. Sly malty sweet sort of aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Subtle carbonation was felt with a decent ABV coming about just right.
Overall, pretty good brown ale, perhaps leaning towards the English side. Would have again.
CoastGuardVet (9444) reviewed Altbier from Hereford & Hops 8 years ago
Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 6.5
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a slightly golden to copper color with a fairly fast fading white head. No lace.
The aroma had some malt up front, some grassy hops and then light white pepper.
The flavor tried to blend the prior mentioned aromas, somewhat sweet with the spice trying to make a decent effort. Some maltiness in the aftertaste and finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Decent carbonation. Somewhat smooth all around as the spice seems to be barely there.
Overall, was fairly good, perhaps again if I was at the brewpub.
CoastGuardVet (9444) reviewed Blackbird Stout from Hereford & Hops 8 years ago
Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was an almost black color with a finger’s worth of eggshell white foamy head that dissipated at a slow pace. Mild lace.
The aroma had some roasted coffee notes, light oatmeal, light dark chocolate nibs and ends with some cereal/grainy sweetness.
The flavor leans to the sweet side and rolls into a smooth sort of oat/grainy aftertaste and on into the finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionable to sipping sort of quality about it. Roastiness was smoothed out fairly nice by the oatmeal.
Overall, nicely done oatmeal stout well worthy of having again.
