Warming sweet malty with lots of dark caramel and toffee like sweetness, some dark dried fruit shred, great barrel character, yeasty linger, full bodied, nice interplay of spices into the malty warming boozy bear hug of a finish. Great winter warmer.

Toasted sweet fruity with notes of dried fruit shred, molasses, cocoa, nice body and mouthfeel, rich bourbon into the nice warming malty finish. Lovely.

Bottle. Pours inky black, small brown head, good lacing. Aroma is deep and rich, vanilla, fudge, bourbon. Flavor is fully sweet and heavy on vanilla. Full body, creamy mouthfeel. Too much vanilla for my taste. Its funny, 15 years ago vanilla BA stouts were like manna from heaven, now I just wish they would leave vanilla out of beer as a rule.

Bottle pours with a murky mahogany colored body that supports almost no head. The aroma offers up inviting reduced sugars as well as some wood notes followed by booze and spirits. The taste delivers smooth integrated molasses, a dash of toffee as well as murmurs of sweet dark fruity esters. The barrel treatment overshadows the beer a bit with booze, slick sweet bourbon and then muted woodiness. Great sipper.

aroma of dark chocolate and coconut. very real and unrefined in the aroma.alcohol barely noticable but felt in the nose a bit, super nice aroma that does not smell like a cheap bakery, but more like a store that sells high end dark chocolate perhaps. barrelling notes, esp the booze, also noticable as fine aromatic hints of what to come. really good, well balanced but not strong aroma. pitch dark, brown head.
flavor is booze barrel, i think whisky. oak, roasted malts, irish coffee, very dark chocolate. end is dark chocolate, roasted malts, booze bitterness.
pretty nice flavor and not overly sweet , even though the abv is through the roof. more dark chocolate and barrel than roasted malts and coffee. practically no dark bitter caramel, which i find a great plus.
