Tap @ Frederiks, Aarhus. Black with a smll beige head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, coffee, maple syrup and bourbon. Flavor is very sweet. Sweet finish with lots of warming alcohol. Oily, smooth and soft. 130826

brown, light brown bubbly head.
nice rounded clean deep malty aroma with a lot of subtle complexity without exploding. very rounded. most bw at this strength are a bit stingy - this one is very soft. i do get some phenolic notes after a few tries, but i had to specifically look for them. flavor is malty, very slightly dried dark fruity, notes from wood but nothing sticking particularly out, end is malty. an ordinary barleywine but super well done with high complexity. the perfect sipper.

Bottle. Pours deep opaque near black, small tan head, hints of lacing. Aroma has notes of vanilla fudge, bourbon;. Flavor is medium plus sweet, light bitter; a kiss of vanilla on a fudgy beer tempered by light bourbon notes. Full body, creamy.

Nice rare find here ❤️ Dark roasted and sweet malty with opulent chocolate, some dark sticky toffee and cramel sweetness, velvety smooth mouthfeel and body, lovely rich bourbon and vanilla accents coalesce into the warming malty finish. Gorgeous.

Bottle thanks to my bro. It pours darkest brown to black with limited head. The aroma is sticky, dark roasted malt, bourbon soaked oak, vanilla, toffee, mars bar, maltesers, jammy fruits, toasted coconut, dried fruits, raisin, sultana, fruit cake, maple . syrup and cacao nibs. The taste is slick, thick, oily, sweet, sticky, chewy, toothy, loads of vanilla, vanilla cake frosting, toasted coconut, toffee, maple syrup, date, fruit cake, raisin, sultana, warming booze, cacao nibs, plenty of bourbon, bourbon soaked oak and a touch of spice, with a slick, vanilla bourbon finish. Fullsome body, fine carbonation and oily mouth feel. Works very well. Moreish not too sweet.
