Had on tap - guessing this is what I had. Bubbly head. Fruity (curranty, slightly earthy) aroma and amber colour. Soft body, lots of bitterness, rich citrusy hop character with light caramelly malts.

Pale yellow. Mostly fruity aroma. Citrus and moderate bitterness, and with light pale malts. Heavier, wetter finish like damp grass is a bit ale-like.

Whole Foods, Bowery 33cl ($4): Pours orange color with a frothy white head. Aroma is a bit of sugar, grass, yeast, and something akin to bread. Taste is quite nice. Nice amount of bitterness throughout. A few particular soda-ish type notes. Some minor sweetness. Very crisp and smooth. Some minor complexity.

Bottle. Clear orangish amber with an inch of white head that fades sharply but laces pretty well. Abundant citrus aromas of oranges, grapefruit, kumquat, kaffir lime; pine, mango, peach, pineapple, passionfruit, slightly toasty caramel. Slightly syrupy, carbonation is low. Very fruity, as much stone and tropical as citrus. The citrus flavours are not that zesty. Very strong but not harsh bitterness. The malts are a little crusty and it’s not that sweet. Alcohol sticks out a little. Good.

Pours dark amber with a fading head.Nose shows grassy, herbal and fruity hops with a bit of lychee and peach. Also some sweet malt with a hint of biscuity, toasty malt.Very similar flavours, sweet malt, soft toasty notes, grassy herbal hops. Pretty sweet, maybe a bit heavy-handed on crystal malt?Could use more carbonation.

Bottle. Amber with an inch of off-white head. Aroma of toasty caramel, berries, pepper, peach and resin. Light bodied, highish carbonation. Sweet caramel and berries, resinous and peppery bitter finish rushes up. Refreshing. A little thin, but nice hops.

Location: 11.2 oz bottle from State Line, 2/11/13, Rating #2828, so nice I type it twice

Aroma: The nose is a little grassy, with some lemon zest, bready malts, and floral notes
Appearance: Pours a cloudy gold-orange with a rather large froth of white head and plenty of lace
Flavor: Tastes a little sweet, with some clean pale malts, bread, and a grassy/floral hop bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, it drinks kinda clean, with lively carbonation, and a light dryness
Overall Impression: This one is a solid Pils, but it isn’t crisp and clean enough to be a top example of what I really look for in this style. Still though, there’s some nice stuff here and the malts and the hops work well together.

Location: 11.2 oz bottle from State Line, 1/31/13, Rating #111 of the Month!

Aroma: The nose is fairly subtle, with some clean pale malts and some citrus hops
Appearance: Pours an unclear orange-amber with a rather large, pillowy, heavily laced, off-white head
Flavor: The taste is a little bit sweet, a little malty, mildly spicy, and with a bit of earthy hop
Palate: The body is light-medium, it has a decent mouthfeel, but a little too much carbonation
Overall Impression: I felt like this was a half decent example of a British-style IPA. (Which, if you let him, jcos can go on a 30 minute rant about how it should be it's own style.) Anyway, back from that digression, there are some good components here, but some flaws too, and it obviously doesn't have the in-your-face hops that an American IPA fan would prefer in the style. Still though, it is a solid, drinkable beer.

Very hazy amber brown beer. Tidy cream coloured head. Palate is softish but has a fine prickly carbonation. Creamy malt with a nice touch of caramel. A little raw malt as well. Just a touch of citrus providing some balance before the crisp dry finish. It’s fine but an IPA really should have more hop presence!

Bottle from Brewery Creek, Vancouver
Cloudy orange-amber color, with medium head. Very nice aroma of fruity hops initially, with malt grains and other cereals, and even some honey later. Dry mouthfeel; the flavor is dominated by the cereals, of good quality, and some toffee; strong hopping, that provides some soft resins and not much fruitiness; the final is long.
Quite good indeed.
