Draught at The Malthouse, Wellington. Near black, small off-white head. Sweet and earthy with plenty of roasty malt and a hints of orange and chocolate. The mouthfeel is soft, but some syrup seems to lurk behind. The earthiness is the dominant flavour here, and the one that lasts.

Draught at The Malthouse, Wellington. Clear deep golden. Spicy hay-like hop aroma. There’s plenty of malt sweetness and a clean, solid mouthfeel. Underneath I find some crystal malt flavour, but the hay-like hops still dominates. Long, dusty bitter finish.

Draught at The Malthouse, Wellington. Clear pale yellow. Dry with plenty of grassy hops. It’s light bodied with gentle rounded mouthfeel. There’s notes of lemon and a bitterness that grows and grows. Only needs to be more crisp to achieve greatness.

Draught at The Malthouse, Wellington. Cloudy golden, small head. Aroma of bubblegum and banana. Malty with restricted sweetness. It’s very soft and drinkable, and the esters are strong, but not overpowering. An excellently balanced session beer!
