Bottled. A deep red beer with a thin lazing tan head. The aroma is sweet and very roasted combined with notes of pumpernickel bread as well as hints of brewmash. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes of caramel and toffee as well as a light notes of metal from the alcohol, leading to a dry bitter and slightly roasted finish. Thanks Papsoe for hauling this home from NZ.

From bottle, 7B Papsoes New Zealand vs US blind tasting. Pours dark amber with a lacing off-white head. Malty aroma, subdued fruit note. Hoppy. Flavour is light spiced and fruity with a subdued malt base. Light hoppy citrusy note. Ends with a light bitterness and a mild fruity note.

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, deep golden with a dense, white head leaving some lacework. Fresh aroma of flowers and a little citrus. Medium in body with a solid and fairly sweet malt base but primarily this is dominated by the great aroma hops. Subdued bitterness. This is almost like fluid candy. 110208

(Bottle 33 cl) Clear, pale golden with a dense, white head. Aroma of fruit, yeast and diacetyl. Medium body with accents of sweet fruit and yeast and a somewhat tired finish. Not exactly a thrilling Belgian style ale. 050208

(Bottle 33 cl) Cloudy, pale golden with a small, white head. Aroma of banana, citrus and yeast. Medium body, rather sweet banana notes and a distinct yeastiness. Distincy clove accents especially in the finish. 010208

(On tap) Courtesy of yalnikim. Clear, amber golden with a creamy, off-white head leaving a neat curtain of laces. Aroma of yeast and flowers. Medium body a little low in carbonation with notes of yeast and fruit, a little diacetyl and a somewhat astringent finish. OK as such - just a little boring. 310108

Pale golden color. Light head, saaz hops hits the nose. Light bodied, nice hop bitterness in mouth. Straight forward, but well made Pils, with moderate bitter finish. I love NZ pils

Bottled. Clear pale yellow, near no head. Grassy nose. Dryish and lightly almondy. Medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Vague notes of butter, a good amount of grassy citrich hops and some alcohol shining through. medium bitterness. A good ale that looks like flat Corona.

Very light, flat straw colour. Highly spicy (mace, cardamom), slightly phenolic aroma. Light body. Spicy character, but that’s it. I really don’t get much malt nor hop in this. There’s a reason Belgian beers have a reputation bigger than Belgian-style beers.
