330ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - big thanks for the Mild supply!]. Opaque, dark chestnut colour with small, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Roasty, minimally bready, dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, coffee surrogate, cocoa, some treacle, pumpernickel, a fruity touch of plum, prune, smoky-ashy overtones. Taste is sweet-ish and dry, roasty and minimally bready, dark malty, notes of treacle, pumpernickel, some coffee, coffee surrogate, dry cocoa, a touch of dark, dried fruit, prune, smoky-ashy overtones; lingering, roasty finish. Surprisingly oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, soft to flat carbonation. I simply love this style for beers like this: a plethora of flavours at low abv - very good!

Ty Grumbo. Unfortunately this bottle is sour, and I suspect it shouldn't be. In the background behind the sourness I get nice roasty, coffee, fruity, malty notes. Too bad about the sourness... still drinkable, but...
