Cask at Alexandra, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with virtually no head. There’s roast malts and some hints of chocolate inthe aroma. Roast malts again in the mouth, alongside toffee, vanilla and some hints of liquorice. Later on some cola and dark fruits come through as well, leading to a quite fruity finish. It’s reasonable if not outstanding.

Cask at Sun, Stafford. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a medium sized cream head. The aroma has roasted malts and chocolate with a hint of caramel. In the mouth it is slightly bitter with a creamy texture. Flavours of roasted malts and coffee with traces of hops, lemon and lactose. Some bitterness in the finish. Not bad at all – if a little dull.

Gravicask, 1/3 pint at GBBF Winter '23. Shared with Finn. Hazy pale golden body, spotty lacing from a tiny white head. Herbal hops and peaches on the nose, inviting. Blend of peaches and orange to the taste character, accentuated by light malty sweetness. Mid-dry bitter fruity end. Tasty. (Burton upon Trent, 17.02.2023).

1/3 pint, gravicask shared with Finn at GBBF Winter '23. Lacing rings down the glass from a covering white head, clear golden body. Floral fruity aromas, dry. Mixed taste character of ripe citrus, bread and biscuit. Distant notes a leafy bitterness towards the end. Decent session qualities. (Burton upon Trent 16.02.2023).
