Description
We are based in East Anglia on the Norfolk/Suffolk border in the heart of farming country where the best barley is grown.
Our mission is to make modern, essential beer styles with a core focus on a Lager you can drink every day, a Session Pale to keep on going back to and an IPA that is true to its form. Simplicity and everyday approachability is our focus. The very essence of being East Anglian.

Bottle shared at level 42. It pours darkest ruby / near black with a medium tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, cacao nibs, Eccles cake, dark fruits and some fruit compote. The taste is smooth initially, rich roasted malts, charred wood, treacle, peppery spice, dark fruits, dried berry, burnt cake, earthy, mild astringency and a bit of plastic with dry, charred finish. Medium body and average carbonation. I had high hopes, but this is very charred and burned. Fair.

Bottle at Level 42, thanks to Paulo, 27/07/16. Light black with a decent tan head. Nose is dusty hops, spice, brown bread, dark fruit rinds, black pepper. Taste comprises peppery spice, earthy hop notes, light pine, red berry must, charr. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Not a great, a little overly tarte and woody tasting, hops are subdued.

Bottle shared in London - many thanks to Paul. Pours clear, deep brown with a frothy, beige head. Some musty earth in the aroma, damp grass, orange peel, leaves, plastic. Light sweet flavour with harsh bitterness, burnt plastic, ashy roast, baking cocoa. Light to medium bodied with average carbonation. Astringent finish, with more plastic, damp earth, harsh baking cocoa. Really rough.

Hazy gold beer, tidy white head. Palate is light and semi dry with reasonable fine carbonation. Light malts, mildly sweet, Soapy salty hops. Dry pithy bitterness, some grapefruit. Dry soapy bitter finish. Yuuuuuuck! Must be a duff bottle - I hope! 1.9

Light haze on this gold beer, good pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, decent fine carbonation. Smooth malts, mild creamy sweetness. Decent orange and orange peel. Touches of skunk and spice. Little bitter floralness. Light semi dry finish. Wow! Quite an improvement.

Bottle from 3@3, Ely. Colour is somewhere between dark gold and orange/copper. A bit hazy with not so much visible carbonation. Aroma is promising if a bit unbalanced: pine resin and papaya play second fiddle to a naked alcohol intensity. The taste is a big ’wow’: tropical fruit and sticky bubblegum sweetness tempered by a strong bittering hop. The bitterness in the finish might be slightly OTT for my personal taste, bit the sweet resinous aftertaste makes up for it. The body’s a bit thin, almost watery, and I think a bit more carbonation would have been nice, as it is it feels a little bit flat. But all in all it’s a tasty IPA.

Bottle from 3at3, Ely. Very close to black, with an impressive - if slightly loose - khaki head. Smell is liquorice, spruce, dark chocolate, vanilla, forest fruit. Taste is an incredibly heady sweet with a hoppy bitter kick. Salt liquorice dominates the aftertaste. Full body, massive carbonation and a huge alcohol hit in the finish. Malt feels a bit burnt in the aftertaste... but that’s being picky. Otherwise exemplary.
