Drinking this one looking at a Lowry-esque wall painting of the area old and new. Quite a modern lager for this part of the world, with a very good and crisp helles style, which is dry tasting and a tad sweet.

330ml can. Clear amber, small creamy white head, some retention. Aroma of sweet malts, light caramel, malts and citrus noted hops; quite fresh and clean. Taste has a nice fruity light yeastiness to it, caramel malts, citrus, a touch watery boiled sweet in the middle to end which is a shame, light bitterness running through, grains also. Almost an excellent lager but its still good.

Keg @ Northern Monk Refectory, Manchester. Black with a very light-brown head. Crisp lager, cannot really feel the dark malt, or even lager qualities too much in taste, mostly in aftertaste and they are better in aroma too. Drinkable regardless. BA version apparently although I didn't get this too much.

330ml can - Pours a clear amber colour with an average sized foamy off-white head. The aroma is grainy, lager malts with some light grassy hops. A moderately sweet taste, grainy, sweet malt flavours, a hint of boiled vegetable with a light hoppy bitterness.

Can. Nose is treacle, toast, nutty, hint of toast and soy. Taste is chocolate, hint of treacle, fruity, lots of malt, hint of cola in the lightly dry finish finish. Slick mouthfeel. Good.
