Description
The brewery can look back on a long tradition. It was first mentioned in 1762 as a communal brewery. Only in 1923 the brewery became private property of Sigmund Pirzer and Hans Jakob. At that time it was called Bräuhaus Nittenau. Since 1996 the brewery has been known as the Nittenau Josef Jakob brewery.

Since 2006 the Nittenauer beers are produced in the newly built brewery in the Wulkersdorferstraße in Nittenau. The new production facility with its modern technology creates an ideal space for creative brewing technology, in which old processes are reconsidered, optimized and implemented to improve the product.

Sustainability and environmentally friendly production methods are of paramount importance. The brewery favours short trade routes and convincing freshness according to the motto "From the region - for the region". 94% of the energy required is covered by an own photovoltaic system. This makes the Nittenau brewery one of the few solar beer breweries in Germany (with a seal of quality).

Bottle from who knows where, drunk while reminiscing on G.I. Joe after watching the Netflix toys documentary episode. It was not as colorful as the He-man episode but still good. The cider on the other hand: pale gold, little to no head, massive fresh apple nose with buttery vanilla hints. Thin body, but not 100% dry/acidic, I suspect they have stopped fermentation at the right time instead of letting it run dry. Nice cider!

0,33l from bottle at Simplyfine, Thun. BB 12.03.2022. black color, small tan head. Smells ashy, light blackberries, hay, tobacco, cheesy, milky, decent smell, bit heavy on the ashy notes. Light body, soft carbonation. Tastes ashy, bitter chocolate, coffee, light blackberries, light lactose, tobacco, lightly nutty, peppery. Finishes light to medium roast bitter with notes of ash, tobacco and bitter chocolate notes. Decent one, body is obviously a bit thin, but rather flavourful beer, would not have guessed this was no abv. 6,4,6,3,14

Bottle. Orange amber, tons of sediment. Nose is citrus grainy, kind of weird. Flavor is pretty orange-peel bitter, a bit of coriander noticeable, metallic marmalade and a bit unpleasant (though I found it better than my wife did). It tastes pretty dry and not super grainy, so that's a big plus compared to most alkoholfrei beer.

330 ml bottle. Murky black, small foamy beige coloured head. Coffee, lactose, NA notes, citrus, roasted malt, cocoa. Mild dry bitterness, a bit sour, some typical NA sweetness in the background. Light bodied, watery texture, lively carbonated, dry finish. Quite good, NA notes well hidden and nice milk coffee aroma.

Sample thanks to Grumbo: Poured a unclear golden with a bubble frothy off white head. Aroma is light hops, earthy, pine, but big maltiness. Taste is bitter hops forward, little fruit jammy in the middle and then more of that big malt backbone, caramel and biscuit.

24/5/2020. Bottle from Craftbeer-shop online store - they threw this one in for free. Pours hazy golden amber with a lasting off-white head. Aroma is dank, tropical, hoppy, piney, biscuit. Moderate sweetness and medium bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation.
